when i look for a good game graphics are not the most important thing for me, one of my favorite games of all on PS2 is God of War, it is one of the best games of all because it is so different in gameplay, i would still like this game even if it graphics from the nineties. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. well crysis is crap. overplayed and overrated game. i simply cant understand why games that offer NOTHING new get such awesome ratings everythere when all they offer is 'a little improved graphics engine and shitload of gameplay we've seen before'. are players not keen on something unique and never before seen? i guess not, since titles like gta or nfs sell so good.. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. if you think only t eh gfx are what has evolved then im sorry you obviously havent played all the titles and tbh you can be as simplistic as that on any game, so Crysis is just a better looking doom game, they all follow the same rules, u have gun you shoot stuff you follow linear story etc...

my friend has this game and ive played it a couple of times and in my opinion every GTA is exactly the same except for a few better details and small extras which are purely novelties. to be honest i wouldn't buy this for myself because its almost identical to every other GTA before it after the story, which you could probably do in a day or two. _______________ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. GTA IV is a video game, just as Films are films and books are books.
You don't have to play it, just as you don't have to watch a film or read a book. Its not gonna take over the world, nor is any film or book. It is not ACTUALLY HAPPENING, it is not a true story and it never will be. Nico Bellic, Carl Johnson, Tommy Vercetti and Clive/Fido (??) Will never actually go to their designated FICTIONAL cities and do the things that you can do in the game. Its about time people got over this rabid hatefest between people who play the game and people who do not. Its not marmite, it is a game and will not kill you to ignore it completely. As for people taking what they see in the game and performing it in reality.. well then.. fingers crossed no-one ever reads a book, watches a film, looks at a poster, reads a magazine, plays super mario or.. wait a second.. do anything else?! The ideas and methods are all around us.. its in word of mouth. It takes a person already capable of such atrocities to act upon them, it is not the manufacturers and producers fault the world is full of nutcases. If GTA bothers you, and I can understand why it might, then just don't play it. The less you talk about it, the less you'll think about it. If it doesn't and you love the game like a son, then don't go around rubbing it in peoples faces it is just as any other game. Peace out... Last thing I want is the whole soddin world falling out with each other over a single piece of media. (BTW, yes, I do play the game.. but I also enjoy it when I do and usually prefer not to get involved in the stupid war between the two social groups that have developed over this series. However, I was under the impression that you guys and dolls were all better than this.) Rant over.. This is targeted at no-one specifically, just the ideal of arguing over it. I think you've missed the fact that the series is essentially making fun of the demographic you just highlighted. Uhh... not really. It makes fun of that sort of lifestyle as much as Star Wars makes fun of sci-fi nerds. San Andreas just showed the culture of those sorts of people (well, obviously a highly amplified version of it) but it never outright made fun of it. TAHT WUD BE RUDE. Maybe I phrased that wrongly. It does however lightly mock the very same things it portrays within the game. It shows a caracature version of what that kinda of life is, generally using its themes and ideas for comic effect though also occasionaly for more serious plot driven purposes. Its more of a parody than Star Wars, though not in its entirety. But I suppose nothing can please everyone. as i already pointed out - i have not tried gta IV or read too much about it. if by some chance some friend of mine would show the game and it would appear different (atleast a little more realistic in... pretty much every way i guess) then my opinion about GTA series would change. while saying that if previous games sucked then the upcoming will suck as well isnt very bright, you must realise that from a gamer who was disappointed by the GTA series its almost the same like... need for speed series - porsche unleashed was the best of all and now they go worse and worse.. kinda lost hope for some series.. might look at some gta4 videos now.. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. I think you've missed the fact that the series is essentially making fun of the demographic you just highlighted. Just as much as it made fun of Elivis impersonators when it was in 2D. If the game was about that then I wouldn't play it.
I'm still wondering why you feel the need to critisize as most of the negative things you point out have changed for IV anyway. Its almost as different as III was to GTA2. GTAIV isn't like that really, which is the main reason that I bought it. I think there is a lot more realism in this one compared to the last ones (I have no clue about San Andreas due to me refusing to play it ). For example, npcs will react differently depending on where you shoot them. Another great features is the use of the Euphoria engine. It makes the physics alot more realistic than just silly ragdog engines. There was a lot more realism added, but I am not going to list all of it because I don't have all day.
As to it being more of the same stuff, there is a plethora of new features, including multiplayer. |

And why are you posting if the series holds no interest to you? Overrated they may be, but some of us enjoy them for their quirky charm and surprising humour.
