Yes, that's right! Shadow and I have been working on a swoop racing event to take place at Boonta Eve, Tatooine, on the fun server. Actually, make that two.
The first is a tournament whereby all the people who sign up in this thread before the deadline will each be given an opponent to race. From there, it is the responsibility of each person to contact their opponent and arrange a time to meet on the fun server and race them. The person who wins all of their opponents obviously wins the tournament and anybody who loses will be eliminated from the tournament completely. All races will require a referee. See me if you would like to be one. The second is a one-time server gathering where we will have a huge race with all of the people who show. Please post the times you are available for the one-time gathering, whether or not you wish to sign up for the tournament or not (you should have enough time to meet your opponents) and any other comments you may have. More details will be posted as the date approaches. Referees: (Note: If you would like to be a referee, please contact me on IRC. It doesn't matter whether you are a participant or not; you just won't be able to referee your own race.) The pod racing takes place on a Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy server. Currently, this server is a european one hosted in the United Kingdom on Ubuntu Linux. You can find the details for the Euro Fun server here. |

Delete the relevant mod folder most likely located in your GameData folder. Additionally, you can remove all files from your GameData/base directory except for the assets#.pk3 files. If that doesn't work, uninstall the game, delete all remaining directories made by the game and then reinstall for an easy fix. |

In Jedi Academy, there are Non-Player Characters (NPCs) or bots which can be placed or spawned in maps, in both multiplayer and single player. Some of these are vehicles that you can ride, such as swoops, ATSTs, tauntauns and X-Wings (to name a few). There are many maps designed to support these vehicles and their use in a race. It will be as simple as everybody hopping on a vehicle and waiting for the go signal. It works, because I have done it for years. This comment was edited by Setementor on Aug 23 2008 05:24am. |
