I loved it. Finished twice (good guy, bad girl ).
I did not really like the main story arc, but the optional quests and the general feel of the world is awesome. Probably misinterpretation! Melee hitting specific body parts via V.A.T.S is not included in the game mechanics. Although, at least hand to hand should have allowed hitting specific body parts. If I remember correctly, Fallout 2 allowed low blows _______________ "Deos fortioribus adesse." |

Great game and it is very true to the series in almost every aspect. It didn't fall victim to bloated expectations and delivered very well.

I can run Oblivion pretty much maxed out with a 10x7 resolution and get steady FPS beyond the 20 mark in all situations, but i can't make Crysis run with more than 7 FPS no matter what i do (outdoors, that is). I'm not sure why your system can't handle Oblivion Saz, especially with your vid card - i'm on similiar specs with less RAM and a 7600GS, and i'm doing quite fine. It's definitely good news to hear that the game is running well for you though, since that increases the likelihood of it running well for me too, which is great!
Laz, sorry to hear about the sloppy german version. I have to admit, the only games i own in german are Starcraft and the Gothic series, and i do not plan to change that at all, especially with all the talk about cutting 'inappropriate' content from german versions of the games. On that note, weren't they planning to cut away the drugs feature from fallout3? Honestly? Because amazon.com does not ship the pwnage survival edition (including pip-boy 3000 waistwatch!) to my country... tough luck. I got the "ordinary" collecters edition and here it is in german. I could try to get some imports, true. skill system is different
its pretty much fallout-like. then the obvious fail of oblivion - level scale. as in when u level - mobs level with u... its not present in fallout. which is definitely good. Quote: So that might be a reference how playable it might be on your system.

So far I find it pretty epic. Only drawback is the - for my taste - aweful german localisation, and the game did not come als Multi 5 or anything else language wise. The german voiceacting sounds not "honest" in any way. And frequent mistakes in subtitles does not make that aspect better. Might try some english version sometime. For the scaleability... I dunno, could you play Oblivion? It's the same engine after all, just pimped. So that might be a reference how playable it might be on your system. The only strange thing is the "twist" I was prepared for: This is not a real Fallout - well, it's 1st or 3rd person... has to be different - is has not the same feeling... But hell, I like it

spore was a fail. Fallout definitely isnt. while oblivion went shitty no matter what i did with my pc, fallout runs at high smoothly with fast loading times etc. my pc is 9600gt, ~2gb ram (i always forget the ammount tbh), p4 3000mhz.
i played witcher also, trust me fallout has learned from the past mistakes of oblivion and other games
as for the game itself... its ok i guess... i was kinda disappointed that i couldnt use VATS (or whatever that targeting system is called) on melee weapons. :< what else... stealth is a little weak.... yeah it helps...
the whole lore/quest stuff is great tho. much more interesting than quite dull oblivion secondary quests (not countin the dark brotherhood tho).
so yeah i guess the game lives up to the hype at around 65-70%... and in general game is 7-8/10 _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. So it's not a failure like Spore or Red Alert3 was?
But yeah, i'll be playing it sometime next month or so. I hope the visuals are sufficiently scalable to allow for adequate FPS even on low-end systems; witcher sucked in this regard, and developers are getting more and more intolerant towards people who havn't upgraded in the last 4 years. _______________ Find out more about the Jedi Academy Aurochs here and more about Masta here!
