Jedi Academy in Vista. Minimizing angst!

>.< I am having a huge problem being able to minimize my JA game on my Vista operating system. To my knowledge UU doesn't work with it, any extra minimizer programs I've tried do not work, and also, if i try and task manager minimize it, it doesn't do anything. I'm also not a big fan of windowed mode when it comes to this game, there's no way (that I've found) to get the game to all fit in the window. So if anyone has any tips I'd be overjoyed to hear them! I don't know if this matters or not, but I am using Vista Ultimate 64 bit

heres the fov mod: http://files.filefront.com/FovWeaponFlag+modrar/;9743382;/fileinfo.html
theres 3 pk3's in that download but all u need is the "tehs_clientmod_democonst" (unzip it and put that in ur base folder) the rest u can throw away if u like.

at this point u will notice that ur game starts auto recording but theres a easy fix for that.
in that download theres also a autoexec cfg that u need, just throw that in ur base folder and it should stop the autodemo

now when ingame with all that in ur base folder change ur cg_fov to about 115/120 then do what masta told u, done that and u should have full screen

OBS! wont work on a pure server!!

hmm first of to minimize u should try Q3E minimizer http://files.filefront.com/Q3E+Minimizer+151/;4420160;/fileinfo.html works on all games that use the Q3 engine

and for the resolution problem masta's trix should work, but u might also need a fov mod. I know atleast sauce had to use it,

The method i outlined solves your problem. I checked the r_mode value and it's supposed to be -1 for the custom settings to take effect.

Well thats the thing, i run my desktop resolution at 1680x1050 on a 22" monitor. But when i set that as the window it doesn't fill up the whole screen, the window still has a maximize button on the top of it, but i can't interact with it to make it do anything, so a lot of the game is outside the window.

How come you can't fit the game in the whole window? Do you mean that none of the standard resolutions work to fill out the whole of your monitor? If so, check out your jampconfig.cfg file, open it up with wordpad or equivalent, then look for the commands

seta r_customwidth "xxx"
seta r_customheight "yyy"

and fill out the x's and y's with the values that accord to your monitor's resolution. For these to take effect, i think you also have to set 'r_mode "x"' in the config to -1 or 0; i forgot. Try both and see what resolutions you get. Back up your cfg file just in case.
