The JA will never give up JKA. Or i'm hunting you all down and cutting your throats and eating your reproductive jigglybits. |
Setementor - Jedi Master |
Whatever happens, we won't abandon JKA, so no worries.
You're right though, people who play one game might read up on other related games and try them out or play them as well. |

I still want my darn JAE 1.02 back on the servers. Leave basejka to tffa/duel servers.
I don't like the whole TOR idea, but maybe it'd make JKA more popular with the SW fans. |

Yes, we know the JA needs a new game. This is a thread about features for the new forum.
That said, I'm open to the idea of us having a subforum for TOR, as a new Jedi Knight game will not be released in the forseeable future (if ever). _______________ Joined 16 October 2004 | Retired 10 April 2005 | Returned 05 June 2008 | Made Staff 27 June 2008 | Made Council 18 January 2009 Padawan To Odan-Wei Belouve | Adopted into the Belouve family | Twin to xAnAtOs | Owner of the 4th Quesi sexy badge Brother To Roan Belouve, Nomad, Majno, Silkmonkey, Kensei and Jarhok Belouve Owner Of Virtue's 1000th profile comment, Mr. Doobie's 1000th profile comment, Gradius' 2500th comment, xAnAtOs' 2500th comment, Rosered's 1500th comment, Laziana's 900th comment, Scythus' 500th comment and Echuu's 100th comment |

It's bioware they will not fail and yea most of us joined up to play jk2 and such but as you can tell 90% of the people on this site don't play jk series anymore they come here to talk to friends they have made. Jk is very much stale in the water at the minute injecting a new star wars game in to the site would be a good idea if you ask me _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are Best Movie Character EVER!! |

Whether it lives up to expectations or not, one thing's for sure: it'll have a DAMN huge community. |

Sounds cool. I don't think tja should focus entirely on SWTOR though. Remember that most of us joined tja for what it is now. From the moment that swtor was released I've had the feeling that swtor was going to fail to live up to expectations. I agree that it would be a nice addition to our community but remember that the game isn't even released yet and won't be in half a year. Ofcourse I could be wrong and it may be an awsome game. Whatever happens trying to implement some swtor support won't hurt anyone. _______________ May the force be with you. And may the academy stand forever! |

Well, I'm sure clod will forgive me for saying this but thinking like that is half the reason that the JA isn't even a shadow of what it used to be; there's just this general assumption that if you lean towards the direction that almost every successful online community leans towards, we're too stupid and untrustworthy to handle it. But thanks.
The other half would be the decline in popularity of our chosen series of games. Which still breaks my heart. Also, after posting this DJ told me he was open to the idea of IMG's. I just hope this doesn't mean he's gonna post pics of himself omfg. This comment was edited by planK on Aug 06 2010 06:21am. |

The reason for no [img] tag in the current system isn't difficulty or even the need for content control. DJ expressed a desire to keep the site from turning into a typical image flooded forum where people convey their ideas with tasteless and often unintelligible images rather than coherent conversation. _______________ |

Isn't that what admins are for? |

Indeed, it is a long shot that such a thing should happen but I like to keep all possible issues in check. |

A tournament system would be nice to be added after the site is complete as I believe we are aiming to reimplement the original functionality first to keep everything running smooth. The idea of a server tracker has been discussed briefly and will more than likely get implemented as it doesn't require much to be done. Keep your ideas coming in! Great ideas. I'd love that as well, especially the trackers. As for inappropriate images, I don't think we should worry too much about that here. Most of the JA is mature enough and it's easy to fix given the number of potential forum moderators. |

Yeah like kaldor said images would be great. But I don't think they should be in signatures.
It would also be cool to have a tournament system since tournaments are rather popular in tja. You would have to sign up for it (like enrolling for a class). There would also be a build-in bracket system on the site so that we don't have to use those other sites. Perhaps the server page can also display how many people are currently on it and what map is currently on. (like jedi tracker) _______________ May the force be with you. Ability to use tags like [img] instead of linking pics offside would be really useful. |
