Jedi academy mac Modding menu Problem? | |
Sajid - The Undertitled |
when ever i download a mod on my mac, and put it in the base folder, it never shows up in the mod thingy in the menu. instead, it launches right away. for example. if i put JA+ in the base folder the game starts up as ja+ whilst the mod menu option remains empty. any solutions? im on an imac 2010 with the latest jedi academy update. _______________ Brother to Quill You don't understand. As far as I can see in the Mac version's requirements, it requires Mac OS X. I imagine you may need the Windows version to run it on Windows.
Probably no harm in trying if you're that curious though. |

Now That I thing about it, it doesn't make a difference, but its just a peeve of mine not running Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy clean and smooth as it should be.

Quote: Read that others have had a problem getting mods to work in SP on a mac, guess this is a question for a mac user...if anyone else actually uses a mac. The reason I use a mac is cause i develop software as a side job. its really fun and its much easier on a mac. macs are much better if you can afford them ( i can, Mwahahahah!) anyway. i got windows 7 on my mac with boot camp, so can i install the mac jedi academy on my pc/mac? _______________ Brother to Quill You don't understand. You need to put them in the folder outside of the base folder in their own folder in order for them to appear in the mod menu
What FM said is exactly right. Mods (the kind that are folders) go into the GameData folder, whereas mini-mods (.pk3s) usually go into the Base folder. Quote: you mean in the Jedi academy Folder?
No, he means the GameData folder. Your game directory should (at least on Windows) look like this: Lucasarts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData/base Now, .pk3s go into Lucasarts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData/base However, folder modifications (such as JA+) go into Lucasarts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData So in your GameData folder (which you should have), there should be at least two folders: base and Japlus. Quote: i tried that and i tried putting the folder in the base folder. nothing worked.
The folder should not go in the base folder, it should go in the folder just above it, GameData. Quote: does it matter that i renamed the folders?
It shouldn't matter that you renamed it, no, because the name under 'mods' is dictated by the description.txt file, regardless of the folder's name. But just incase you could rename it back anyway... Quote: dosnt ja+ come with a readme file?
Yeah to be fair there is a lot of documentation for JA+ considering its popularity. Quote: but as i recall it everything goes in the gamedata folder...and idk but renaming it might cause some problems
Shouldn't cause problems really if you're installing it for the server part of it and not the client part of it, but best to just leave the name as it is in my opinion, I do. _______________ Brother to Quill You don't understand. Basically, just rename the folder back and put it into the SAME directory as the base folder, alongside it. Then it should work fine. |
