TES V: Skyrim - *No Spoilers Please* | |

Cause you know you lurve it!
New info as and when it comes out. So far the release is 11.11.11 which is easy enough to remember and approx 295 days from now. Website Worth a read Four French dudes got 2 and a half hours each on a 3 month old build. Check out the roughly translated impressions here. Skyrim is the homeland of the Nords, the original home of man. As far as I know the game is set around the death of the king which happens at the start of the game. I imagine very much like the death of the Emperor in Oblivion (Skyrim takes place around 200 years after the events of TES IV). You take the role of the last of the Dovahkiin, or Dragon Born, and its up to you to deal with a civil war and some sick dragon thing. Go here for more info: Link SO! I had an idea. How about all of us looking forward to Skyrim get together on TeamSpeak on Nov. 11th? We can chat, have a laugh and discuss our experiences as we play. Anyone wanting to play in silent for a bit is welcome to drop in and out at their leisure. I think it'd be a great excuse to chat with each other again! Well, Skype didn't happen as I was busy that night. Hope everyone's enjoying Skyrim as much as I am. Can I please ask that nobody gives away any spoilers in this topic, please. Be fair to your kinsmen. _______________ -Padawan of Virtue -Brother of Menaxia, *|irael, Krynn Adept, Majno, Ris Win Juljul, DaMi3N, Beowulf, Dash Starlight, Carrock and Yuken Zalak Bartender at Munes bar. watched that a few days ago and...
well i kinda like everything except the interface. it looks simple and all, but notice how much time he spends selecting powers or weapons in middle of combat? then again it might be thanks to console controller which i couldnt care less about. also the best thing about video is ofcourse the confirmation of dark brotherhood. we knew its gonna be there, but... still :p cant wait to play stealthy khajiit again. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. LA Noire is going to be amazing! Should keep me happy until Skyrim and TOR come out. |

ofcourse.
there arent many hints of them making the game overly casual and they didnt really disappoint me with their previous games so yeah you could say im pretty optimistic. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. looks like the engine now allows some better character to character interactions. always thought that in TES series some wife & husband npcs should feel pretty sad, because they cant even hug each other lol. nice way to increase immersion. on top of that i bet we will see normal backstabs. as a fan of stealth im looking forward to those. also nothing beats some good impaling. since dark messiah i want that in every game which involves swords. also i thought they are gonna drop the usual TES experience system and go to fallout 3 and new vegas one. it seems they are tweaking the old system. i guess thats better since it still kinda makes the series unique. the changes sound good enough to avoid bandits in full daedric armor. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. You started as a farmer in Dungeon Siege. Mind you, that game didn't really need a story. Gas Powered Games just went with the "click 9 gazillion times to win" game mechanic. It can work in situations where too much story focus can get in the way of the gameplay.
However, that is not what we expect from TES. We expect a brilliant mixture of both story telling AND gameplay. Graphics I couldn't be arsed about. I will admit that Morrowind and Oblivion still wowed me in terms of sheer shineyness in their respective eras but I never cared much beyond that point. For me a game has to keep me going "wow, that's pretty neat" or "heeeells yeah! Awesome!" for about 5-6 hours on release day. Then it has to make me look forward to coming home and playing it more, instead of paying attention to the missus. If a game can't last beyond one day then it's not much of a game. This is just one of the many reasons I still swear by Bethesda. Here's looking forward to Rage from Id. In short. A good game is better than, as a Sim might say, Woohoo! _______________ -Padawan of Virtue -Brother of Menaxia, *|irael, Krynn Adept, Majno, Ris Win Juljul, DaMi3N, Beowulf, Dash Starlight, Carrock and Yuken Zalak Bartender at Munes bar. Quote: Afaik, Gothic 2 started in an enclosed, semi-dark rocky place... or rather, a magix tower, which is just an excuse for a dark rocky place.
Have not played Arcania (for obvious reasons), but I still think starting an RPG outside would be a nice change. well, when you get out of the tower you have to get to the city and the most obvious way to do it is to get farmers clothes... which you can get by doing some farm errands. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Quote: How about starting it outside for a change, i.e. on a farm, where you have to accomplish a variety of mundane tasks that in turn help to introduce the player to the gameplay and serve as a mini-tutorial. This fits neatly with my idea of starting out as a commoner instead of an aristocrat or, in this case, a criminal.
well you started last two games as a criminal which is ok imo. however starting in prison again is pretty lame. farmer? im not so sure, gothic 2 and that blasphemous game called arcania started in farms. hopefully this time beginning will be not tragicly epic, but some fucked up shit lol well as long as i can kill innocent person right outside the prison and get invited into dark brotherhood... i should be fine _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february.
