They've just introduced guilds on the TOR website and people can start creating them on the website now, so I've created one for the JA.

When i spoke to Dev's at PAX East they claimed they were dead set on getting the game released in 2011, but would not obviously give specifics. Looking most likely a late fall release.
Advantages to making a guild now is the fact that your guild name will be reserved on the server you are chosen for, as well as your 1st characters you create will auto join the guild eliminating the need for Virty to login on day 1, and invite everyone. Your character will get a popup window asking if you would like to join the guild The Jedi Academy, click yes and boomshakalaka your in the guild _______________ Come on now, every Generation X boy wanted to be Luke Skywalker. Is it because he was a whiney farm boy from some backwater hack planet? No, it's because he was a FREAKING JEDI. He could block lasers with his lightsaber. He could levitate droids & rocks & crap with his mind. Come on, he choked two pig dudes with just a simple gesture. He cut off Darth Vader's hand and kicked him down a flight of stairs.    Release window is between July 1st and end of the year basically. As for any advantage, not necessarily. Aha, found the thread finally. I joined TJA on TOR for now. Being a mainly Euro guild, not sure if it will work out for me, but I'll be a member for now at least!

Not as recruitment, since we're a US guild and 97% of JA members now are Euros but my guild has a pretty epic RP puzzle for anyone who wishes to try their hand at it. I've looked on the forums about that, apparently some names and words are indeed reserved, like one chap tried to create a guild called "Revan's Legacy" or something but couldn't because the name "Revan" isn't allowed to be used.

That is actually a good point, although I doubt bioware would ban/take up that name for themselves. And if they would, they'd probably do it prior to allowing users to create their own guilds. EDIT: And they'd probably take 'Jedi Academy' instead of 'The Jedi Academy'.. but who knows?
