Sc2 is a cloned uninspired game? You release blizzard pretty much invented rts gaming online ? With Warcraft 2 and it's battlenet system... If you can't appreciate that starcraft is the reason you even have games like hon and dota then your clearly a idiot, and as for whiney kids, apart from idra  ok and maybe drewbie at times, you'll find only mature people in the grand master league of Starcraft, which is the bulk of who you see in the competitive scene. _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

had a thought about competitive games the other day.
when i started playing counter strike many years back, not many people had good internet or computers at all so most people were playing in netcafes, myself included. that formed sort of small community, i played with or against most of the players who were top players in the country. thats how small playerbase that was. everyone were respectful... and look at community now. douchebags. had the same experience with dota, where it increasingly became overcrowded by whiny kids. come to think of it, even if that might be surprising - i wasnt much of a whiner back then myself. so i thought that most games start with small communities then get popular and become your usual company of shitheads. ofcourse im talking about the general gamers population at easily accesable, public gaming and community levels. so where is the biggest surprise? youd think that the increasing idiocy never ends, whatever game becomes more casual, competitive scene becomes shit etc. starcraft managed to grow through those teenage whiny years and achieve something that no other game achieved. checked how sc2 is goin in that last tourney... just damn... as a sidenote, every moba genre game (dota, lol, hon, blc) is in teenage phase. probably like this: dota> hon > lol > blc. dota - its been around for long enough to have some decent communities. hon - complete retardism tbh, the only thing preventing this to be better than lol or blc communities is obviously that its not free. lol - got way too popular. blc - maybe thats not much of a case now, but when i checked the team names some months back... i was amazed how creative some intolerance of race/religion or whatever else was.. actually some examples were so ridiculous it was actually damn funny.... add to that the people you are matched with... damn. one of the wildest environments ive seen in online games. _______________ playing jk3 since 30th of january (2005), member since 1st of february. Oh there's lots of factors that make such comparisons possible, like developer support, community size, impact on (competitive) culture and game development, visual/sound quality, replayability, PERSONAL PREFERENCE, metacritic score etc. etc.
