Dont worry my grave will read here is a asshole too. yes you should forget that since that didnt touch you one bit. many talented people are pricks, but often you dont even hear (or care) about that since it doesnt concern you. this shouldnt be an exception. also often thats a point of view of someone else. i dont exactly like technology he worked on, but that doesnt mean i dont respect him as a pioneer of his field. I think it's a convention to state positive things about recently deceased people.
