Thanks for sharing that Monteee. I'm choosing between my Sorcerer and Merc for my first Imperial character, any tips? I plan to heal with the one I level eventually, but should I spec DPS to level or does it not matter? You've played both classes haven't you? Which did you prefer? Depends on what you want to do, for PVE healing i think Merc is my fav, but for pvp the tools of sorc/sage is awesome for pvp _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

The good and bad thing about this game is there is really only 1 way to attack each talent tree depending on what your doing. This gives us lots of cookie cutter builds tho which helps people who know nothing about the game to talent themselves properly. _______________ If you add me to MSN, tell me who you are

I decided to give Argantes a rest (At valor rank 59, lol wtf) and lvl'd Crossreaper, my Shadow.
I actually leveld as Infiltration (Up to 2/31/8) and changed to a Kinetic spec for PVP (31/0/10) Again, I have no interest in PVE in this game. Coogie - Trooper (Vanguard) - Specced for tanking
Current (27/0/0) Potential endgame builds Energy Blast Spec (31/8/2) or Energy Blast Alt Spec (31/10) Gut Spec(30/11/0) I'll probably go with the energy blast spec. Speccing into gut was tempting but in the end worry over longer term ammo regen swung me. Yeah, I think we're all learning still. I remember when I started raiding in other games I had to find a whole other level to go into, it made me a better all round player and made me do things I would never have considered if left to my own devices. Are you planning to use this to jump around and push the ranged mobs into a ball so you can sweep them or plan to jump around like a crazed bunny and aggro individuals? My assumption is either you are doing the same for agro generation on multiples using force sweep or wanted to be more of a hybrid DPS spec. Force Sweep is really useful, and seems to do a lot of damage. Plus the added effect of Dust Storm means that I can keep the opponents accuracy down pretty much the entire fight as I don't need to worry about having focus free
Unremitting is really useful too, as high level mobs often do knock backs as soon as you force leap. Being immune to that is fantastic, plus it gives a big hunk of damage reduction for a little while so when I first attack and am being hit on all sides I have that added protection. Plus with Command my force push cooldown is decreased, which gives me a free force jump, which in turn gives me remitting again
Plasma Brand is almost as good as Guardian Slash, and with Vigilance the cooldown on it is 6 seconds less. At the moment I am just getting used to the game, learning my abilities and remembering that my role is not to do damage, but keep the enemies focus. Also once I get used to Guardian Leap (with Protector perk) I will hopefully be able to mix that with force push and force leap (force push will give me an extra free force leap) giving me the ability to jump around keeping aggro, doing decent damage and having huge damage reduction for large periods with Unremitting+Protect giving me 40% damage reduction. _______________ INTP |

Just want to add that I'll be watching this thread with great interest as I have had very little to do with number crunching in MMOs previous to this, certainly for a long while.

Stay tuned for part 2: Laz dies from Noble Sacrifice! I don't think criting will be the problem and using that free noble sacrifice in rotation is a must if you can. It was the 2 global cool downs that would eat 3 seconds I was more worried about. As you probably know when healing, 3 seconds can feel like an eternity when you want to get a heal off. I'd put money on us both dying from noble sacrifice at some point.

I know there is one vanguard spec out there drops the top of the shield tree for more agro generation. I just speculate that eventually I will crit with healing trance all the time (especially with rejuvenate beforehand) so I hit the free sacrifice all the time inbetween the ability chain. Current picked what I thought would give me a fine balance between DPS/heals/Endurance I might go with something more like 7/31/3 to reduce pushback and the ability to slow incoming mobs. As I hinted at in an earlier post, your second point into Teleketic defence makes for a better rounded healer and better use of the points in the other trees. Over the course of a boss fight that could easily be a few thousand damage mitigated. Not class breaking but it is something you don't have to heal.
The only difference in the seer tree is you took pain bear while I took valiance. I almost took pain bearer until I realised it was only incoming healing it helped. In truth you could probably throw either of those out and neither of us would notice. When levelling I took valiance so I could get force without killing myself, kept it in case I accidentally missed the free proc.
