So yeah, nothing too fancy or impressive here, but I had some time on my hands and I was bored. The results were pleasing for the time spent, so why not share it?
The story: I thought about using downsampling to make JK3 look nicer. Since today's GPUs are capable to run the old Q3 engine without any strain whatsoever, I tried to make it look nice with just the given tools. I have a Nvidia GTX 760 in my system and a 27inch monitor with 1080p resolution. So what I did was: - Create a custom resolution in Nvidia Control center with 2880 width and 1620 height (that's plus 50 in percent to the original 1920 by 1080). - Then I chose jamp.exe in Nvidia Control Center and set everything to max that I could find (forced AA to 8x, AF to 32x, etc. pp) - Finally I launched JK3 and set resolution to 2080x1536 and windowed mode (I do not like 16:9 aspect ratio in this game. Just looks wierd) As I thought, the game is steady on 59/60 fps due to vsync. So with just the innate software features of the graphics card it looks like this: (you might need to use the download function to get the full image, the embedded gallery on this site does not display the pictures in full size) Screen 1 Screen 2 Screen 3 That's as fancy/beautiful as it can get without other 3rd party software, I guess. Not too shabby for this engine which can safely be considered "ancient" in this day and age. Still this cannot ever be a replacement for a proper JK4 which we will most likely never see. Just thought I would share this

I really only just thought:
