Well guys.. I dont know if anyone has heard about this before, I just learned about this a few mins ago, a new law is being passed as you read this. A law that applies to Washington state only - Any retail salesman who sells any violent games where you can kill police, wemon, or people of different color (yes, people of different color than yourself), to anyone under the age of 18 will be charged five hundred dollars... Our country is lead by idiots who want nothing but for us to cut our grass, eat our dinner, go to school/work, come home, cut our grass, eat our dinner---- blah blah blah... Fools

Yeah, Padawan, you tend to want to spend a lot of money on homeland security after some terrorists start flying planes into buildings. And guess what! Its not the president's fault. You know who makes the laws to raise or lower taxes? Congress does. The president just signs the laws and they go into effect. That's why the house and senate were able to cut down his original proposed tax cut. Yeah, The country is in an economic recession, so you know giving the country some more of its own money to spend is a bad thing. Yeah sure. I don't suppose you've taken a lot of economics, because if you do a tax cut to the right places, it will help the economy. You know why there were supposed budget surplusses in the 90's? Because they took money out of social security. And correct if I'm wrong but the president is a part of the government, so your statement about it not being the government's fault but the president's makes no sense.

alas we have to pay taxes... if it were not against the law to POSTPONE(not pay all together) paying taxes, we can set a date and tell(not ask) the government to stop acting like a bunch o hooha monkey's... Alas, the head of the government also is a bit idiotic...(this means you BUSCH!!!) trying to put a tax cut while the country is in a damn economic depression... if they used the tax money correctly, we wouldn't have these problems today... besides, ever since the Industrial Revolution, they are trying to expand west, so what the government is doing is to spend tax $$$ to make roads, running water, etc... so who is to blame??? not the government because they've been in Chapter 11 for a couple years now... it's the presidents fault for creating a large deficit, of which my generation will have to pay for...

And another note, (did you know fact) the US spends more money on Homeland security than any other country in the WORLD, more than $10 billion TAX $$$

Yeah, that did really suck.

Hector lends me a sword, blunter than the backside of a butter knife, to use for my military flight, which was OK-ayed by the Captain (a real Air Force captain, not head of the flight).

VUPD (pronounced "vupid" to rhyme with "stupid";) sees me with the sword, locked and sheathed (which is a legal way to carry it) and takes it away.

Despite the explanation, and not only an Air Force Captain, but an Air Force Lt. Colonel, clearing up the mess, "Vupid" would not return the sword to me, because I was not the rightful owner.

Furthermore, at the time, Hector was not 18, so they could not return it to him either. He wanted to sign a form to release it to me, but he was a minor, so could not. Even if his parents released it, they would not give it to me. So only when I left Valpo in transfer, did they give it back to me.

Moral of the story: if you ever want to re-enact Vice City, do it in Valpo. The VUPD would be awesome in such a scenario. I never thought I would find anyone as dumb as the vice city cops, but VUPD "Vupid" takes the cake. And from the looks of them, the VUPD Chief ate the whole damn thing too.

bah.... its all really just an attempt to enforce game ratings. of course im sure that video games are the sole reason for violence in society. for example, my roommate was playing solitare yesterday, so guess what he did today? he went out and bought a deck of cards to play REAL solitare with. oh, and my brother used to play monoploy on the computor all the time, now he plays the board game too. and dont even get me started with the little kids running aroung yelling "bling" every time they think they've gotten a gold coin and jumping on little mushrooms at turtles......

ok i hope that sarcasme was bitting enough to get my point across

::edit:: actually i foregot to mention that none of the above really happened... although my parents onced complained we should stop using our computor for card/board games and we should try them in real life..... hm.....

::edit #2:: and the worst part of ulic's problem was that after he explained about the sword they wouldnt return it becasue it wasnt his, i loned it to him and therefore, technically, i was supposed to drive all the [explative deleted] way down there to get it. man people can be dumb.

I don't think I talked about suing. And I only pointed out the IRA because they have done it before. It occurs in other countries as well. And it just needs to happen one time. They're guns were obtained illegally, even if it was somehow from the US they obtained them here illegally. When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. There is evidence that when a state has a concealed weapons law the crime rate goes down. Most criminals are scared little cowards that will prey on those weaker than them. If there is a very high likelyhood that the person they are going to try and rob has a gun they are more than likely not going to try and rob that person. I remember hearing something about a town that actually passed a law in that banned guns in the town. Guess what, the crime rate went UP.

"Now, if I were a robber, and I broke into a house, and I had a gun, what is the likelihood that the OWNER of the house will pull a gun on me?
None. Guns were banned, remember? So I will just rob the house, since I know no one has a gun."
4/5 burgularys happen during the day so gun or no gun.No one in.
"Now, say there is a town where each household MUST have a gun. If I break into the house with a gun, what is the likelihood that the guy in the house will pull a gun on me? It's certain, he is required to have a gun. Will I rob the house? Probably not."
right another point if you have a gun its gonning to do two things.A)the robber will be more likely to attack you when he sees you with
b)having a gun you are more likely to kill the burgular. And do you really want to kill another human being.

billy to your thing on cars, unlike guns cars arent designed to kill people.oh an buzz crimminal should be able to sue u like that.

Buzz to the IRA thing. The IRA dont do suicide attacks that much.Which reminds me of another point.Legalising guns make it easier for terroroists.Where did the IRA get thier guns for terribly killling people?
The United States of course.

The reason I want a gun is to save a life...my own! If that's selfish, then so be it.
It comes down to this, most people that commit gun-related crimes get their guns illegally. So banning guns won't change the statistics that much.
Plus, if someone breaks into your house, and he hurts himself in the process, they can sue you! And they win the law suits!!! So, if you're gonna break into my house, I will shoot you dead so you can't sue me!

I agree with Sniya and what he said about gun violence, "if the loss of guns mean that is even a tiny bit less likely to happen then its worth it."
Sure, banning guns won't completely solve the gun problem but the simple fact is less guns=less gun violence.
Would you rather own a gun for selfish reasons"I want a gun, it's my right!"
Or be prepared to give up that right in order to preserve life?
No contest really.

Yeah not having guns in the UK really does help overall. I mean afterall without guns, the IRA couldn't get suicide bombers to blow up buses and such. And don't bring up Columbine. Those kids were very screwed up. They didn't just use guns, they had bombs planted as well. And they didn't get the guns from their parents. They were obtained illegally so having guns banned really wouldn't have stopped them.

And what about Vader? Is he just a white guy trying to be black? So then, are we beating up on a white guy, or a black guy? Or both? Idiots in Washington would say beating up on Vader is bad.

Ok, so....
Take guns away.

Now, if I were a robber, and I broke into a house, and I had a gun, what is the likelihood that the OWNER of the house will pull a gun on me?
None. Guns were banned, remember? So I will just rob the house, since I know no one has a gun.

Now, say there is a town where each household MUST have a gun. If I break into the house with a gun, what is the likelihood that the guy in the house will pull a gun on me? It's certain, he is required to have a gun. Will I rob the house? Probably not.

So, in this case, more guns make things better. There are other measures that are much more effective. Like the broken glass thoughts. but I will talk about that only if asked.

Guns rule! I should request membership in the NRA, and ask them to send me a gun. It is my given right to have a gun, so I want one, they should give me one. (I AM 21, also, so I can BUY pretty much anything) Yeeeeeeehaawwww!!!

Taking guns away from the people won't really solve anything. There are tons of car accidents too, and by your logic, they should outlaw them too.
Just like anything, there's a good and bad side to it.

To the gun thing
in my mind there is no doubt, no hesitation,no question.Im 100% sure that guns should be banned,in the UK guns are banned therefore there is less Gun crime sure in replacement they use Knifes etc but at least knifes can be slightly easier handled by police and theier are less accidents.Every year thier are terrible accidents in america involving guns. And think back to the shootings in that school in america. That type of thing is more likely to happen in america as pointed out at the time. Why?because guns are easilly accessed mabey dad has some locked away mabey grampa keeps one.Mabey its unlikely to happen. But if the loss of guns mean that is even a tiny bit less likely to happen then its worth it.

You know, my dad talks about watching westerns on saturday mornings where there was always a lot of shooting and killing. Does that mean that today we can blame the old westerns for violence committed by anyone over the age of let's say 30. Here's an amazing concept, people that are violent are going to buy violent games. The games aren't causing the problems, its the people. Watch there will be some study that Jack The Ripper was actually a violent killer because he had some violent paintings or something.
