I'm really bringing a lot of my mental power to bear to think of something here. I can easily complain, but I'm trying to rack my noodle to come up with some form of suggestions or development. So if you think it's getting hotter at the JA, it's just my brain trying to work.  But I'll post relevant excerpts here, not the whole thing. Master Ulic, I have seen you do nothing but improve your attitude and communication skills since I've known you. So now may be a better time then ever to share your thoughts with people. There may have been times in the past that you rubbed someone the wrong way and they can't let go of that and move on. That’s sad for them, but it doesn’t have to be sad for you. I guess what I'm saying is that I care about you and what you have to say and I know Bubu and many others feel the same. I know that may not mean as much as having a high ranking official try and keep you in their crosshairs but hopefully it’s some consolation. I wish I had some solution but I don’t. All I can do is try to encourage you and let you know that your efforts are not in vane (as DJ has said) and that I appreciate having you around. Carve, I don’t know any specifics of your situation either but think of all the positive things you could represent instead of the few negatives. It’s kinda' like not wanting an opportunity to do something great because someone else got the same opportunity and didn’t do something great. For example, say Joe Blow gets endowed with super powers in order to save some people from a burning building. Instead of saving anyone he uses his powers to see how many chilidogs he can eat in ½ hour. Now the super power being who gave Joe his powers wants to give you powers in order for you to rescue those poor burning people. But you say “Nah I don’t want to rescue anyone for fear I might be associated with that chili dog eating bastard Joe Blow.” This may be totally inapplicable to your situation so if it is, please disregard. Ulic: I'd really like to help correct this. The points system was a good idea at the time, but after implementation it wasn't the best solution for us. You live and learn and move on. I don't think it makes you arrogant or anything. If you're referring to that one thread a long time ago that's long since gone to me. I don't think you should stay silent at all. If you have something to say or a suggestion for improving this place let me know or post it here. If it's directed toward a specific person I'd prefer a private email. I'll fix your trials thing lickety split as well. I think I know how to make it happen so that won't happen to further people with your rank situation too. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Yeah, OK. So I try to help out the Academy by sending notifications to the JAC on stuff. I even made suggestions that got implemeneted, like the class points system, and revamping the Knight trials before. Those have since changed, to evolve to something else. But I take these steps, and I'm an "arrogant bastard", with an ego the size of the Star Destroyer I rode in on. Or, I sit back and not really do anything, and people say I'm not wanting to help, that I won't stand by them. (And an edit from Bubu's above reply, Bubu is not the only one who has said this.) So I can't do anything, since that comes out bad, and I can't do nothing. So I got ticked at the Academy and decided, fine, I'll leave. But that didn't go over well. So I eventually step down from JAK, and stay. That gets some respect, but it really hasn't helped anything Academy-wise. As for the "enemies". I don't hate anyone, but I am almost certain that some higher ups hate me for some reason. And I'm ticked off because of their stances, that I can't complain, I can't keep silent, I can't leave, I can't stay, and I can't enjoy this whole thing either. So maybe if I think there can be some reversal to this whole thing, I'll write something out for the JA heads. But this is just so people know how messed up this place has gotten, in my eyes. As for the Trials link, it says that my exam is pending review. I have not sent one in, probably have not been nominated (and most likely won't be), but if and when I want to be considered, I can't fill out a form, even if the nominations are there. One thing I'd like to say: Ever since I joined the academy, I've been looking up to the JACs and JATs and admiring them for the great amount of time and effort they put into this place. Ever since I set foot in this place, I knew that I wanted to become deeply involved in its activities. I knew that I wanted to give back to it, what it gave me. That doesn't mean that I didn't see its imperfections. I saw all the troublemakers, as we call them, and I saw the corruption among the higher ranks, and I've witnessed many incidents such as the one in question which could easily have turned me away. But i never left. Look at me, I'm a JAT, and damn proud of it! And I will fight for this place and strive to make it better as long as it stands! Now you are telling me that you are not ready to stand beside me and fight for it. What am I supposed to think? Am I wasting my time? That's not what I want to believe. I want to believe that this great community we have here gives to me as much as I give to it. So, what I'm saying is, don't walk away. Ulic, you aren't being forbidden from becoming a JAK again. You stepped down became a student and have not received a nomination for knight. I had that issue cleared up earlier. You cannot see the trials link untill you receive a nomination for knight. Your saying you got passed up for JAT is just like all those Journeymen thinking they were getting passed up for Knight. Also this place doesn't need you to keep all this secret documentation of the bad things that higher ups are doing. What it needs is for you to let someone know what is going on so it can be dealt with in some way. Maybe if you had let someone know about something you saw earlier a problem could have been solved. The JAK's JAT's JAC's are not above the rules. They've received discipline in the past. They've apologized for actions in the past. Carve: exactly what happened here to cause all this? Email me plz. About your written exam we're not ignoring it or you. We (the JACs/JATs/JAKs) have actaully been discussing it for some time. I'm sorry we havent kept you up to date on it, but we havent been ignoring the trial. Ulic: That incident between the 2 JACs you mention has hopefully been rectified and there shouldn't be anything like that happening again. I'd like you to email me too with what "crap" we need to fix. Your position is valid. I just want to make sure this place is still running smoothly. As for the profile trial thing. What exactly is preventing you from trialing? Include that in your email. The trials systems was built for advancement and may not work right when someone moves down the ol' ladder. Ulic, actually beeing JAK is *not* automatically beeing a JAT. You seem to me like you may have forgoten this about Bubu's and Luke's appointment. And there shall not be "enemies" in the JA, this is maybe good in politics or for career but damn, not here. If you have a problem with someone, solve it, but don't start any childish "wars" or long-term hosility. Keep that outside. On the other hand I have to agree that there is quite a lot of power abuse again recently which is said to be in "all good fun" but as soon as students start some fun their judged hard. That's the task of the JACs to talk some sense into their JATs and maybe get some more JAKs for we have only about 4 active. And I really beleive in the JACs that they will do the right thing. As far as I could see thye did most things right. But, guys, keep that out the public forum. Ulic, please dont start just undefined accusements, they only tense the situation. If you have a certain problem, talk to the ones involved and if that doesnt work out contact DJ or Doobie. I have my enemies in the JAT and JAC, at least I think so. I was a Knight, and got more crap as Knight then I did as a student. I got passed up for JAT time and time again, no one even asked me. I was sick of the crap going on, so that contributed to why I stepped down as Knight. (see my profile) I think my enemies are still in the upper ranks somewhere, so I'll probably not get to JAK again. and I can't even fill out an exam now, since my profile is messed up from going from JAK to Student. And I won't even start to metion the stuff I have seen some JACs do on IRC, but it got nasty, started with one JAC posting porn links, then another JAC going all sailor mouth on them, then they swore back and forth....and they say I'M not JAT material, and some felt I was a poor JAK too. and they ban those that even begin to behave like some of the JATs and JACs do. If only I tossed aside my nobility and posted all the documentation I kept on the JATs and JACs, yeah, I saved that IRC spat, and some of the dumbass stunts that have been pulled in servers. This whole thing is just messed up. Someone needs to get something worthwhile into the JA. But not me, I tried at some time, got a lot of crap for it. Maybe that's why I didn't feel I fit in with the higher ranks. I didn't want to feel I could get away with doing crap simply because I was a JAK or higher. The JAC stick is not big enough to hide your dumbass antics, and it won't work to scare us away from pulling the same crap you do. And I know some JAC or staff will contact me and give me crap like they've done before. Fix your own crap before even trying to come tell me what to do. You have no right to judge my attitude, or any other potential JAK's attitude, if your own is a pice of crap. So this is a heated statement. Deal with it. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Okay, it's been a day or two later, I've had some time to think... And I still don't regret my decision at all. Maybe I wouldn't mind if it were just a couple of mouthy students, but it wasn't. Personally, I thought the behaviour I was shown was sickening, and yeah maybe I am blowing it out of proportion, and I'm NOT going into it here because honestly, that isn't appropriate. However, I felt it was the easiest way to get the word out quickly that I no longer wished to become a JAK. Now, the Academy has a lot of good people, yes. Then again, so do public servers. A lot of people are patriotic about America, but despise their leaders. See where I'm going with this? The Jedi Academy is a good place, sure, but I'm not willing to represent them by holding a title, sorry. (btw, the "despise their leaders" thing was not a clue as to who this is all about, so don't bother trying to find hidden clues) _______________ © |

this whole JAK thing is a hot topic. many people are wondering what's up with it and why we haven't heard anything about it. umm...i was just wondering. i have been told by some JATs that i have their nomination. i don't know if they've submitted it, but i would like to know. one of these JATs would be my old master, NofrikinfuN. long before he quit he said he was going to get started on my nomination, but i don't know if he ever actually submitted it. and if he did, would it count since he has left as a JAT. again, i would just like to know. i know i haven't been at the academy all that long, but i don't know if that would stand in the way of my taking the exam and trials. i feel i have the technical ability and the attitude to be a knight. |

Cool you aint leaving. Now conserning the exam, your's was the last one accepted in. There are 9 ppl that submited the exam before you and are still waiting. The reason for the delay is , and you should know this, in order to get a trial you need 3 nominations from JAT's. But to get the initial exam you only need 1, so after your 1st nomination you did your exam, but you still don't have enough nominations for a trial. I don't know yet what the policy on old exams will be after the new trial system gets introduced. But one thing I'm sure they will be not only harder on the technical aspects of the game but but most important on the person's character and behavour I have no dought that you are up for the technical stuff but I do think you need some work on your actitude, so keep it up .
