I got reply from Raven sayin' it'll be possible to import architecture into new editor but it'll need to be retextured. I am waiting for ydnar of splash damage to reply about q3map2 support for jedi academy. Maybe it would be possible to complie it from GTK using q3map2?

I'm not a big First person shooter or Quake fan so I could be way off base on this. Since Quake 3 runs the Quake 3 engine and Jedi Outcast run the Quake 3 engine, wouldn't that mean that you could play quake 3 maps on JK2? Or are they just really different? It could end up being the same between Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. There are probably going to be a few different weapons so that could cause glitches. Maybe changes to the bot routing system too? Like I said this isn't my strong suit so I don't really know

I'm working on a map now, and with all this RLâ„¢ riff-raff going on right now, it probably won't be done 'til after JK:JA comes out. What if I only have the BSP and nothing else? Would that make it easier to use the map for it?

Bravo on the last reply. If any of you ever tried playing q3 models in Bid for power (The dbz mod, that turned out to not be a dbz mod) you sometimes come up with problems like a model not comiling right because files are in the wrong places. I'm sure our expert coders will figure out solutions to these problems very quickly. anyways, the game engine shouldn't be different enough for it too matter to much.

it may be difficult to port the maps though. I tried to port the jk2 demo level to jk2 SP, but it all screwed up.

The game engine is exactly the same. Think of JK:JA as an advanced mod, which has time, funding and a team of expert coders behind it. I'm guessing the maps will work, it'd be silly if they didn't. But you never know, the world is a silly place.......
