I'm a newbie: location - South Carolina(EST) Connection - broadband Age - 16 OS - XP I know i put this post in another area but i dont think it will get read there so i pasted it here... I'm new to TJA and this will be my first class and i still dont know alot about how everything works, so i have some questions: First is time - im in South Carolina(EST) I signed up for a 4am(GMT) class so as i understand it i need to join the server at 11pm(EST) correct? or does the web site change over to the time you selected when i applied to the Academy? Second is Mods/extras - i signed up for the class and in the furture when i sign up for a class im wondering do i need ever thing listed under mods/extras? And also i saw something in the rules about not having sertain scripts...not sure exactly what they are..and i have downloaded alot of maps and skins and a few mods one which was the "Dragon Remix" total conversion..is that ok? do i need to take it out? And what downloads do i need in my \Gamedata\Academy folder or my \Gamedata\base folder and other stuff like this let me know with a LINK or reply plz. Also I hope to get to know all the Jedi Academy members.....Do i need to look for a Master train me? hows the Master Padawan thing work? WOw dje_server_pack just downloaded that is alot of stuff. I put it it the gamedata base folder right? not the academy folder? ya, i suggest downloading all of the skins the academy uses or all you will seeare kyles running around. but remember some of us(fizz, bubu, and others) seem to be a little insane. so if they are bothering you just ignore them. they prob wont do anything to harm you  _______________ "this is Icco. yeah for the JA mod you don't need to download anything. all you really need in order to play on our servers is the map, which you can find in the "servers" section, and the JK 1.4 patch of course any skins, maps you download, you should put in the base folder. you don't need to remove anything from there to play on our servers. for the times, go to "my profile" on the left, and change your GMT offset to whatever it is and all times on the site should appear in your time zone scripts are allowed as long as they're not movement scripts. you cannot use a script to perform a certain move, but you can use a script to record a demo for example. masters are optional. if you develop a relationship with a JAK/JAT/JAC and they decide to take you and train you, then congrats, you have a private master. and of course, welcome aboard. i hope you enjoy your stay  _______________ make install -not war This comment was edited by Bubu on May 11 2003 03:15am. |

Greetings. Welcome to JA. Post in the "I need a Master" thread in the Academy Discussion forum...if you _want_ a master. As said below, it isn't absolutely necessary, but I'm sure it certainly helps! Read the FAQ, and check out the Holocron threads. A number of us are working on a project compiling as much information on JKII and the JA as possible for easy accessibility and reading.
