ok, so I was intrested in skining, but new nothing about it and download some application and tutorials and as I was reading it said to open my {assets0.pk3} with winzip so I downloaded winzip then went to open and used winzip to do it."...Takes a turn for the worse..." all of my downloaded skins and maps, everything that was .pk3 and maybe more I dont think so though, changed over to a winzip icon and lost the ending of .pk3! how can I fix this and I really don't want to have to redownload all of the files again, there are so many. Also to attempt to fix this I uninstalled "winzip" praying they would convert back to what they were, but no luck. I really need some help...anyone? _______________ "Size matters not, for my ally is the force, and a powerful ally it is." -Yoda [O, and MacGyver is a PIMP] |

Check to see if you can do it through the add/remove programs part of XP. Otherwise ad-aware should be able to get rid of it. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

all you did was associate winzip with the .pk3 file extension. Your pk3's are still there, its just that if you double click them now they will open in winzip. go ahead and reinstall winzip, cuase you will need it for other stuff. Now, i assume you have windows 98 or ME. you can fix it so the pk3 extension shows back up by double clicking your my computer icon. Click the tools menu, and select folder options. A window will pop up, click the file types tab, scan down till you see the pk3 file extension. click on the extension, there should be an edit button, or advanced button that you can click. click that. The window that pops up should have an option that you can check that says something like "always show extension". That will make it so that the pk3 extension always is visible in the file name. If you do any renaming though, be sure you always leave the pk3 in the name. If you forget and just do the name without leaving the extension on there, windows will think the file has no format. _______________ Death is only the beginning.
