Okay, the ingame music for JO has finally gotten too annoying. Is there some way the JA mod can enable us to change out the music in the server without disabling the pure server setting entirely? Basically just enable it for the music folder, or just for mp3's or something? _______________ spirit's searing pain battlefield of broken glass fallen speak to me --Charon |

I don't know why, but everyone seems to think it escapes me that winamp, or stereos exist. I know this, trust me. The point of the post lies more on "can this feature be added to the JA mod code", using the in game controls like the music changer included in the JA script, rather than letting winamp play, or reaching over to the stereo all the time. _______________ spirit's searing pain battlefield of broken glass fallen speak to me --Charon This comment was edited by Charon on Jan 14 2003 04:58pm. |

Uhh, that's kindof what I was talking about. If the Mod coders can tap in something to allow extra music files to be added. If you throw any .mp3's into a pk3 with a music directory, you can type music music/song and change the music you hear. Problem is, if it's a pure server, it won't allow even that. Since the music isn't going to affect anyone else at all, could the JA Mod be coded to disable server purity only for .mp3s and leave it for everything else? _______________ spirit's searing pain battlefield of broken glass fallen speak to me --Charon |

anything is possible. that would cool if you could make a song list that would just play in the background... ![]() yey i got the 1000th comment on this forum! _______________ make install -not war |

Hmm.. can this method run an m3u playlist or queue songs? I suppose that's too much to ask. ![]() _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Yeah. Under sound options you can turn the music all the way down and just crank up your stereo. That way you can still hear the sound effects. _______________ One of the Belouve boys |

Err I just turn off the music and run winamp in the background. I have a MS internet keyboard and I have the shortcut keys bound to media play, media stop, and media forwards. |

Indeed there is. I was just going to bring that up recently in a meeting. What you have to do, is create a zip with a folder in it called music. Inside this music folder, you make a folder for the specific map you wanna change the music for. (ex. artus_detention) Then pick your flavor of music, (mp3) and label it accordingly (impbasec_action.mp3) would be the action music for that map. To find out all the specific mp3 track names, open assets0.pk3 that is located in your base folder in a zip program. Search for the music folder and you should be all set to pick which or all maps you want to change music for. Dont forget to label your new "music" zip to a pk3 (ex: new_music.pk3)
NOTE: This will wrok for your personal servers and clients only. The file will need to be uploaded to the server if you wish to hear it on for example the KS server and people would have to download it as well. Hope this helps! ![]() _______________ Get busy living, or get busy dying. This comment was edited by cHoSeN oNe on Jan 10 2003 08:36am. |
