well, i got pretty pissed off, while i was on the servers for ten minutes last night. some guy was asking what people looked like in rl so people told him. then this guy went relativly predudice and killed someone because of their beliefs. thoguh i think this guy does not deserve to be punished because he appologised, i believe that the academy students need to all look over the rules one more time.

al khalaas how hard is it to clean up a body yourself? if i don't want to do it, you press the "next weapon" key, then aim at the body, press your primary attack key, and done! don't tell me that not doing so is disrespectful to the next pair of duelers... most people don't even care. ;)

and ioshee... the command for first person saber is "/cg_fpls 1" (or "/cg_fpls !" for toggle)

If strict means Respecting your fellow players and not acting like a horses ass, then yes the Academy is way to strict.

I don't like to clear bodies either. I like the way it looks when the victor is just standing or even bowing over the dead body. Usually there are enough people who enjoy doing it.

Sometimes I switch to the bryar just so I can go into first person and watch. Is that not allowed?

I always do a running lunge on opponents I've killed. This dates back to when I couldn't do it very well, and so I started doing this as a way of practise.

Forget about respect for the fallen , what about respect for the next pair of duellers? i clear bodies so it doesnt distract the next set of duellers. (out of respect for them)

I agree with you Haemon. Nobody used to care if somebody walked around with a gun. As long as you don't fire at people or use it to bug duellers, I really don't see the big issue.

well i don't "clean up my mess" after i kill someone because it is a question of respect for the fallen. call me crazy but my master taught me to respect EVERYONE, even when dead. this is a good thing. you may think it's totally meaningless but when you think about it it also develops your respect in other areas... ;)

as for other ppl doing it, i don't care... i don't go about the place looking for ppl carrying a gun just so i can report them. to people who do do it, i say: GET A CLUE!

May the force be with you... :)

I'll admit, I still use bryar pistols to clear bodies.

Clean up your mess after you kill someone, is that too much to ask? :P

as someone who thought the rules were stirict i gota say it is all in the wording of the rules, i keep saying i will reword all of the rules and submit them, i mean, i liked it after i joined it, but it sounded WAY to strict and harsh.... and BTW, unwritten rules work...

The way the rules are designed is all great but how they're enforced is different. Some people get all angry when you clear a body with the bryar, mind you I'm not talking about randomly shooting it or shooting a other players or using a rocket launcher. All it does is lower your fps by 2 or 3 for 1.6 seconds. Everyone used to do it with the old trainers but suddenly BAM! walking around with a bryar is a, and I quote, "bannable offense."

When did this happen?

I don't think the rules here are too strict at all. In fact, I think in some cases the rules aren't rigidly enough enforced.

The rules here are simple, they basically say respect your fellow players and don't act like an ass on the server.

In my opinion, the ones that think the rules are too strict here, are exactly the people we don't want here.

I like the rules. The rules don't bother me. In fact; I don't think they would bother anyone if they only used some common sense. Rules mean stability, and when you run a place like this, stability is needed.

just my 2 cents..

I agree with bubu, comeing off public servers ontoa JA server the rules would seem strictor, but i beleve they need to be in order to distinguse ourselfs from a PS, remember we need to create the right learning envioment

people who say our rules are too strict will obviously not survive here very long. it is only natural that a great place such as the JA has high standards. although i don't think it has. the rules are common sense really. but for people who were raised on the streets of the public servers they might seem a bit harsh. ;)

That's odd. Some people outside the Academy looking in think we're way too strict. :/ I had to convince some of them that our rules ere mostly benign. What are ya'lls thoughts on this?

I think only a few break the rules, from what i see the servers are quite mild mannerd, the ones that do need to read the rules should print them out and study them every night, then have a exam on them. that would sort the problem;)
