Blue Training Partner

I've been working on my blue style a lot lately and I think I've gotten it to a point where it is rather formidable. However, I'd like to find another person to help me train in the blue stance who has their own ideas and concepts to contribute. While I would love to teach blue style eventually, I don't really have the time now so I'd need a partner who is rather well versed in it already. Toss a comment into my profile or contact me in one of the many ways possible if you're interested.

good point Jake :) But I still think lunge is great as a stealthy move ie. look round a corner, then lunge when the gunner is in range.

Or as a move to catch up and kill people runnin away from ya :)

Yes I'm well aware of that :D Blue has best blocking against guns, but in FFA I'm pretty much always in red stance. Red is the only one really worth using in FFA, if you can do a good throw pull kick, take opponents gun and knock them to the floor at the same time, you can deliver an overhead straight away, good damage :D

Guys, Blue stance has a VERY IMPORTANT place out side of Dueling!!

Guys, Blue stance is the best for anti-guns!

Surely you know THAT!! Blue also has the advantage of the lunge, effective because you can strike at a bit of range. I thought You all would know this! Anyway, I should know :) I love Anti-guns stuff :):D

And just to be different, I started with blue, moved on to yellow, on to red, and now I'm back to yellow. :P

Whoa! Flash, that is freaky that you mentioned that... I started with Red then when to Yellow and now(now that I am not playing as much) am trying to focus on learning blue for more than just lunges.

Amheni, May I suggest Lancer007? He is the best I have seen with blue. Aside from my old master that is... :)

The best strategy i found was to put jump on level 2, speed on full use blue stance put on speed and hop around your enemy (very effective in a duel level)

Ren: You are correct. Focusing on a single stance first allows you to gain insight not only into the stance but in dueling itself without cluttering your thoughts with multiples of varyign strategies. It took me eight months to become an adept with redstance, but only about two weeks to become nearly as good with yellow. Due to the ways the stances are formed, moving from red to yellow to blue is the most logical step. All the stances are, in essence, the same. They have the same swings, and the same combos, with very minor differences, really. Doing red first allows you to learn all these swings very well, and as you progress from yellow to blue, you simply speed up the process and adjust your style as necessary. This is my own personal opinion. Of course, in theory it would make just as much sense to move from blue to yellow to red...

I'm new to the academy, and to JK2 but from what I've seen in the games people try to use luke's and vader's style... um I mean red and yellow I, catagorized the stances to what I've seen in the movies. By the way blue would be Ben's style. Anyway back to the topic most people use yellow and red alot ignoring blue which I think is a mistake. Yellow does do dmg when people finished thier swings in red but so does blue, you just have to picj your shots not charge them, especailly when they do that jumping finishing move on red. All you have to do is side step and use your lunge from ther switch to yellow and do a jump flip slash or two regular ones.

Shoot...lost my train of thought, but look mastering all styles is good but before you master them you have to master one of them. Being really good in one style will leave you to practice the other styles more. And since from what I have heard people like to switch from one style to another, the person mastering one style will probably know how to counter or attack the dueler switching his style constatly.

Jake: (Olderish Post) You're right. Outside of duelling, blue has almost no place, sadly. And yes, it will never be a widly used stance. I'm not hoping to prove you wrong, as I am fond of those who use red/yellow, I'm just casting out a line for those who are as interested in blue as I am.

(Newer Post) Don't forget about the backstab! :D While it tends to be useless a lot of the time, I've been working on ways of making it rather useful (A few people have seen me pull this off.. Looks amazing when it happens :D). The scissors thing isn't something I'm terribly fond of. I use it every once in a while, but don't include it as a staple of the style.

Halendor: Using only blue is not really a requirement, but I don't think I'd achieve much progress with someone who pops into blue every once in a while for a lunge. Knowledge of the swings and a drive to learn are the key factors.

However, anyone who is willing to lend a hand with helping with tactics against other styles or can help point out weaknesses is more than welcome.

ok back on topic :) firstly no there is no BDFA, blue's special is the lunge.

If you wana trainnig partner, ask anyone remotely good at dueling here and they'll tell you the most effective way to use blue stance. I can pretty much tell you right now. Move in and out, stay fast and mobile, use blue scissors (strafing left and right whilst holding fire). Thats pretty much all there is to it :)

What exactly does your training partner need? Does he / she also needs to use blue stance only?

Let's not arhue with Ahmeni...... If he likes blue, let him use blue. His choice, not ours. We have tried to say the right thing (for us) though.
I wish u find someone to train ur blue stance Ahmeni...

It does have a place, actually, as you only know the weaknesses of blue when you compare them to red and yellow. If red and yellow did not exist then blue would have no weaknesses, it would be the "ub3r" stance.

Also, I admire your willingness and want to do something new, but the fact remains, light stance will NEVER be a widley used saber stance. The fact is it jsut doesn't have the power. For something like duel, yeah sure I'm possitive you could become great with it, and whoop your opponents, but picture something like saber only FFA. How are you supposed to kill a guy which will take a good 15 hits in blue, if he keeps running away ?

I know most people in the academy are duelists, and therefore don't care about the other gamemodes. So if you're just gonna duel, fine, learn your blue stance, I'm sure you'll go far, but as a major JKII playing element, blue stance isn't really something most people consider 'vital' to the game.

Since all saber damage was nerfed from the patches, its pushed the grade higher. First people only used red, then they realised that yellow's respectable 30 daamge per hit was not to be discounted. But blue's meagre damage, meagre range and lets face it, meagre speed compared to how fast yellow is (blue should be MUCH faster than yellow, but in gameplay terms there'd be no strategy as it'd move faster than you can see:P)

So go ahead, do your thing, I hope you do prove me wrong and invent a whole new side to blue stance which revolutionises the JKII community :)

While the efforts to dissuade me from my stance are appreciated, they're not of any use to me. I am well aware of the weaknesses of blue and the strengths of the other stances. Frankly, I don't really care about that kind of thing. What I'm truly interested in is playing the game in a way that it isn't normally played.

I have died a LOT using blue. I have had my arse handed to me five times for every kill I've made with blue. However, that one kill is the kind of thing that makes it all worth while. Knowing that I am improving and enjoying myself is what makes this game worth playing for me, which is why I'm looking for someone of similar motivations.

With all this in mind, I would ask that the discussion of red/yellow be taken elsewhere as it doesn't really have much place in this thread.

Yup.... only 1 style to use is _NOT_ bright of u..... Try using the others too.
For example: I use Yellow Stance till I find in which move the opponent weakens. When he does that move I switch to Red Stance to slice him up. In the meanwhile I use Yellow for mainly quick (quicker than Red anyway) moves.....

Try yourself finding some tactics....... Takes time to figure them out though...... ;)

Well it depends, if he found some brilliant technique with blue I would rather know about it than ignoring it because of the prejudice (is that what I think it means?) that blue is weak.

On the other hand I think you're the strongest if you master all stances. I don't agree with the theory that if you use all stances, you can't be 'l33t' in all of them. If you work and train really hard you should be able to achieve that :) Ultimate Warrior...

its all very noble and all wanting to use blue stance cos its underused. The same thing happened with yellow. People only used to fight in red until a few bright sparks realised that you could get into the gaps with yellow that red leaves on its big swings.

But don't you think that if it was possible to use blue on its own, it would of been done by now ? Sorry mate but blue doesn't have enough going for it, its only advantages are its speed, its amount of attacks were combo and the lunge. Its jsut too weak and too short ranged to be used on its own.

I'll agree, some people do use blue quite effectively, but if I were you, I'd spend my time getting to grips with all the stances, ignoring their bad points and using the good points from each one to build up your own unique style.

The reason I use blue is because everybody uses yellow/red. I realize that I am limited by one stance (Though I dabble in yellow from now and then), but I'm more focused on bringing an under used and under appreciated stance into the light.

It's correct what Jake says. You must have confused them with each other or something. Pay close attention to roundhouse swings the next time.

i didn't say i use _only_ one stance... Or did i? Anyway, isn't the yellow stance the one with the yellow curve to the right of the screen? WHen I MP, and I choose yellow stance, the hits are quicker than when I choose the blue stance..... I am _REALLY_ confused. Help me Jake! :(
