I think it will become a 'race for the ranks' if you reset them, so best is to let them be as they are for the moment. As said before, the JATs and JAKs are not selected based on only their gaming skills. |

That's what has been said quite often Bubu. We will slowly turn over to JK:JA and if there becomes a point where there is no need to have support for JK2 it will be converted completely for JK:JA. err... excuse me... but i was under the impression that this was a JK2 Academy and that we couldn't just force all of our students to buy the new game or drop dead. i think that this will stay a JK2 community and maybe, only maybe, slowly convert to JK3 as more and more people would get the game. and since this transformation will occur slowly and gradually, the JAKs/JATs/JACs will have sufficient time to adjust. so imo there is no reason to change the ranks at all. _______________ make install -not war |

Yes, Jacen, I realize that; but do we want teachers torn between two games? I think they should be able to commit time to the game they're teaching, that's where their responsibility comes in. They shouldn't have to teach both, that means classes for each game are both cut in half because of the other. Well, in my *OPINION*, I think that the Council members should stay the same for JK3, but that's it. The council members don't teach entirely too much, so just because it's a new game doesn't mean there purpose changes. They run the show. But, JAT's and JAK's... This is a new game. Just because they have the ability to teach and know a diff. game doesn't exactly mean all of them should get a free ride(I know they've proven themselves here, but we're talking about a new game here...) to JK3. I mean, will they be able to teach dual and double sided the first week? I don't think many people at all will. IMO, just for JK3, the ranks should be looked at once we get in game... My opinion is that the ranks need to stay the same only if sertain ppl (JAK, JAT or JAC ) leave a new person can be pointed out. I think no rank changes should be made cause JK3 isnt gonna be a COMPLETELY new game,offcourse there will be some new things but not dramaticly. But this is just my opinion |

Yeah this issue has been discussed numerous times in the JK:JA forum. What it boils down to is that its not just the ability to play the game that makes JAK's and JAT's the ones that teach, its their ability to teach. We have many students that are just as good at the game or better than the JAT's and JAK's but they lack other skills or haven't displayed them to be doing training. So it will be very likely that these people will pick up on the new game in short order and will be able to start teaching classes for it as well. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill.
