Thanks. What do you mean by "Starting Planets"?

Does that mean that when you boot up the game you can choose where to start or when you make a character you have to choose where they live forever? Is there travel between these starting planets or will that not be until the space expansion comes out?

when you join in the game though Aeth you are able to take on two additional professions. For instance my character is a brawler marksman and medic. It only costs 100 credits and like two skill points to start up a new beginner profession so you could be a brawling musician.

Well Aeth, you can choose multiple proffesions.

You can only choose one starting proffession when you are creating your character, but once you are in the game, you can learn as many skills as you like, providing you have the skill points for them.

Hey, I've found something cool. A character builder :) Check it out here:

http://swgcb.yogn.net/swg-cb.php?prof_id=2

Notice however that you need to start with a starting profession (duh) and you only choose of those professions you can actually get.
Example: With beeing brawler you get melee combat experience. But for becoming musician you need music experience, so you cant become a musician with being brawler.

Some more questions to the betas :D

a) Can I later choose another starting proffession? So I could be Brawler + Entertainer?
b) Do I need to become master brawler to become teras kasi or is it enough to just do the "unarmed" brawler part?

Heh, Teras Kasi + dancing abilitys would rock :D

Sounds cool. So is it all going to take place on one planet until the space expansion gets released? Are there going to be speeder bikes at all? What setting or planet did the beta testing take place on?

??? 5mb?!?! That had to be a TON more. At least 40-50mb, it does NOT take me 20 minutes to download 5 megs! Anywho, I like combat. A lot. :D I just topped Pistol 4 in the Marksman tree. Now I need 50K pistol experience to get Novice Smuggler. :(

Yeah there are still some bugs and such, but you know most games released on PC do end up receiving several patches to correct issues after release. I remember hearing that there could actually be a path to download the week of release. This was quite a long time ago though.

A few days before the NDA was lifted, we all got a huge patch to download.
I'm talking well over 5mb of data.

Now, in this patch the devs claimed that they had addressed most, if not all major bug issues left from previous patches.
I had 2 of my characters wiped and had to start again, this wasn't much of a problem though.

I have seen some good improvements since the release of the patch and to date I am not sure whether I believe the game is ready for release or not.

Remember, there IS some time before actual release, so the dev teams are using these last valuable few days to address everything they possibly can.

As for us Beta Testers, we only have a few more days left before everything is wiped and we have to start paying. Hehe. Therefor, I think most of us will be spending these last few days getting as much out of this "free" product as we can, therefore, will find and address the remaining bugs and issues.

Well, I know several other guys in the beta who were simply shocked about the early release date. They told me the game was still having some major issues to fix and some balancing was terrible. They said certain proffessions would simply loose like hell against others... too bad they didnt tell me what professions ;)
In their opinion the game wasnt ready to release at all, and they all said it. Scared me

Combat isn't like JO OR Diablo.

It is turn based, which often puts alot of people off before even trying it.
The combat system, in my opinion is good, remember, I am one of the people that is used to combat systems like JO, so at first, I was a little curious about how it worked in SWG.

Basically, when you attack someone, you aoutomatically start shooting at them (If you are a Marksman), this will continue untill the battle is won/lost, you can run around and even kneel or go prone (lying on the floor) while in combat.
As yo grow in your skills, you learn "Special Moves" that you can implement into your fight.

One of the Novice Marksman specials is called "Body Shot", if you select this move while fighting, it is added to your "Moves List" and you execute it if you have nothing else ahead of it on your list.

Basically, you can enque a chain of Special moves in your "Moves List" and each will be executed in battle one after another.
It costs action points or mind points each time you use a SPecial move (much like using the Force in JO), but it will replenish itself over time (again like JO).

ioshee: Vechicles are not implemented yet, but will be in the first few months.

Mazza: Interaction is great, they included a slew of animated and non-animated emotes. Also, if you want, you can play the entire game and have just as much fun without ever fighting. :) Addiction.....umm, lemme put it this way, I am already starting an SWG Anyonamous. :P and quite franksly, there IS too much stuff. MOO!

Aeth: Graphics: the game has a self life of 10 years. Meaning that when they turn the GFX setting to full, no computer that is avaliable commercially can run the game. :D
Melee can match against ranged, trick is getting in close.
Crafting system is stable (finally) and diverse. A lot of clothing and stuff you will need hide and bone for which will require fighting.
10,000,000,000. Its friggin awesome!

1) How did you like grahpic? I saw some, mostly indoor, shots that really sucked
2) What can yo utell me about melee fighters? Can they compete with ranged weapons?
3) How did you like crafting system?
4) Give SWg a note between 10 (best) and 1 (worst)

how is the interaction with other players?

how about the fighting? do you have to fight if you don't want to?

give the game an addiction rating from 1 to 5, 1 being the least addictive and 5 being "if there was a way to inject this game straight into my veins, i would".

gameplay diversity and lenght and so on :D. would you be able to have experienced 80% or more of the game in the first week? or is there simply too much stuff?

moo?

yes.

alright.

thanks.

Sadly ODIN, no one but the Dev team knows exactly what powers a Jedi can weild and how to go about becoming one.
All Force Sensitive/Jedi related stuff has/had been tested internally by the Devs, not even us Beta Boys were given any clues. :(

Still, on the way to unlocking/finding out about Force Sensitivity/Jedihood, there is SO much to do in the game that you'll probably forget about it after a while, hehe.
If you are one of the lucky few who get's a Jedi, even you won't know how you did it.

Hehe, Chicka has a good point, but believe me, the game WILL be worth $50, plus any and all subscription you have to pay. :D

BTW, the devs did all the testing for Jedi, for security reasons. ;)

hey first post!

I know a little about the game even less about the jedi, can you tell us what kind of powers they have and have you played as one.
I heard its hard to become one but anything you can tell us would be helpful.:D
