Introducing the JA to the world!

I think I once saw a class whose purpose was this; to introduce the JA to the ppl playing in srvrs of the JA.
I won't make no class; I have this thread; and I would like to see the JA getting more ppl.
If u want the same, please co-operate with me on this:

- We (anyone in the JA) can go to public srvrs.
- We talk about the JA and it's goals
- Say advantages, and other stuff
- Tell them to visit the web-site (specify which one though - www.thejediacademy.net )
- Tell them that if thet want to, they can sign up!
- We tell them that after signing up, they _MUST_ leave a comment on our (i mean ur) profile
- POST IN THIS THREAD IF U GOT ANY NEW MEMBERS.

PS. BY CO-OPERATING, U CAN ONLY BECOME A GOOD JA MEMBER. THIS THREAD DOES NOT PROMISE U ANYTHING ELSE. I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE POWER TO OFFER ANYTHING TO U.

PS2. PLZ DO NOT CLAIM THAT U HAVE FOUND NEW MEMBERS IF U HAVEN'T!!!!!

PS3. U CAN LEAVE COMMENTS ON MY PROFILE ABOUT THE THOUGHT. WAS IT GOOD OR BAD?

PS4. THANK U CLASS MAKER WHO GAVE ME THE IDEA. I _THINK_ IT WAS La Magra!

:) ;) :P :D *JA* :D :P ;) :)

Big H- Ahh. i c now. Hmm. Well, wouldn't hurt. Still disagree with you about asking peeps on the pubs, tho. That's alright. Differences make the world go round.

I'd still like a *real* bumper sticker, tho. Anyone have access to a printing press? ;)

Sorry, Darth. I'm just havin' fun bustin' H's chops!

Stop! This is becoming a t-shirt / bumbersticker war!!!
Talking in the servers about the JA _IS_ better than posting in the forums... Many ppl in the forums, just talk about jk2. The ppl in public servers r PLAYING jk2... :)

With t-shirts and bumperstickers I meant banners on JKII fansites, try to get other big site post about us in their news, post on other big JKII related forums, etc. Just to make it clear, I don't think approaching people on servers isn't useful! I just think above things are also useful :)

Halendor, I'm gonna have to agree with Buzz on this issue. If you think about marketing strategies in general, the thing you want to do is focus most of your attention on the areas where you think your work is going to do the most good, and where you'll get the biggest bang for your buck.

Bumperstickers are cool. (I wouldn't mind having one...heck, I even thought about changing my license plate to something JA-related.) But they really won't get you anywhere. The only places where you'll see high concentrations of people who are really interested in JK2 - and thus JA - will be...those who are playing the pubs. _Not_ at your friendly neighborhood grocery store. Okay, maybe 1 person in a thousand who enter the store. But those aren't good numbers! I say, focus attention on the pubs.

Sorry, don't mean to shoot down your cewl ideas buddy! Just the honest (unfortunate) truth. :( :)

T-shirts and bumper stickers wont earn the academy much new members ;)
And, you can pay for it, if you like :)

The academy already had some plans to open an online shop, but it seems to have gone dead a bit.

I guess there is no reason *not* to do it, but I still feel you get more result with t-shirts and bumperstickers ;)

Halendor, why NOT tell people playing on servers about this place? I mean those people are obviously playing the game, and that's the people you'd like to see, the ones that want to play and learn.

I'm not sure if recruiting on servers is the best way of letting more people know it exists. How about a newspost on a few main fansites, posts on other forums, banners, bumperstickers, buttons, t-shirts, balloons, pencils...

I got carried away there, but you get my point :)

*JAKE* : c? u do that even by yourself! rn't u happy that the JA gets new members... Post here if u get any. And as i've edited in the thread, U DON'T NEED TO SPECIFY ANY NUMBER. Just say that u got members, so we can know.

*ASO* : As i said to Jake, i've edited the thread and u don't need to specify the number. Just say that u have, and u're done! I don't think that saying "I got new members" is much of a trouble

*BUZZ* : I never said anything about "I'm awesome", or smth!!! lol ;) ... As I've edited in the thread, to avoid such behaviors u don't specify any numbers. Just say (if u wanna) that u have brought members.

:) ;) :P :D

If u don't wanna, u don't have to say then how many u got...

And if this isn't much of a problem, say at least u got some.... :)

And Halendor, I can't find a reason y the JA doesn't need more members... ;)

Its not that we NEED more members Halendor its whether there are people who would like to play at a place like this but don't know that it exists. I don't think we're going to go sorry we're full and not taking anymore new members.

why wouldnt we need new members?

Of course, more people, means more (possible) problems, but also, more new ideas.
The academy must keep growing, and there are many people around, all with different skills, that can contribute to it.

Some people are server administrators, others are good mappers, skinners, modellers, programmers, and others just add a good spirit to the academy.

I'm pretty sure it is Zero's class. Quick question: does the JA *need* more members? I don't think so :(

There's also no purpose in saying how many people you got to sign up other than going "Look at me I got 10 new people to join this week, I'm awesome." Inviting people here to join learn and have fun is good but you don't need to go have them search for your profile post a comment just so you can go get a running tally of who joined. Hell a lot of people ask how to view the profiles of members here so it could be a bit confusing for newer people.

what for ? The people will jsut sign up and be welcomed like everyone else. I do this all the time anyway on my own, ask people if they want help on publics and refer them here, no pressure, not "sign up please" for of a "if you want to learn how to fight as well as why you fight, go sign up at blahblahblah"
