A weird thing just happened on irc. 22 people just signed off all at once. It said, for example, Luke_Skywalker Signoff (*.net*.split). All the people got that message. The only people left are me and Newt, but hes sleeping. Does anyone know what just happened? EDIT: It's been 15 minutes, and none of them have come back. Where are they? I don't know. Thats something called a Netsplit. IRC servers are networked together to form IRC networks (like quakenet). These servers stay sync'd together so when a guy types something on the NYC server, the guy in Germany sees it. When one or more servers come desynced its called a Netsplit. It effectively splits the IRC network in two. The others in the channel most likely saw you quit with the same reason. This is just an IRC phenomenon. All you need to do is wait them out. If its been over 15 minutes or something dumb like that you may want to connect to a different quakenet server. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |
