What i was thinking was maybe a pop-up reminder or an email reminder so that people who take classes won't miss them, meaning the class won't be wasted. I was thinking something like a New PM pop-up from a phpBB board but for classes, maybe an hour before. Post your views..

Do what I do write it down and put it next to your computer. That way you see when is your next class.

Xan, i have the google toolbar (toolbar.google.com i think) and it blocks popups great. Anyway, to the topic. I have wanted something to remind me about classes. Like have something in the upper right corner of the webpage at all times listing all your classes or something. That would be very, very cool :)

I'll think about a good way to do it. Many people (like me) have popups disabled, so I'll go another route.. oooh i think i know how to do it.. it'll go in nicely with my new site design for JA (which will be a near complete site rewreite :))

Honestly reminders are a good idea. There are people that have to do the same thing everyday at the same time. And no matter how many times they do it they'll still need a reminder or else they might miss it. However I don't think this needs to be site implemented. There are plenty other calendar and reminder programs out there that you can get yourself. If you know there's a chance you'll forget put the responsibility on yourself to make a reminder so you don't forget.

i take myself for example. I have a terrible short term memory, and with so much to remember, the classes usually disappear from my mind, and i end up missing them.

I really dont think its necessary to do this, as it is the responsibility of the person who signed up for a class to show up. They shouldn't need to be reminded or chased up to come to a class that they have already signed up for.

Good idea, But an hour before is not enough time. If you forgot about class you'll need more than an hours notice as most people don't check the e-mail often. I would say an e-mail the day before, Most people sign up for class a week before it starts then forget that they have that class. 24 hour notice reminder would be better. IMHO.
