What the JA is all about!

When my friend gave me JK2 a few months ago i was skeptical. I heard about the game for a long time but figured it wasn't any good. After playing it for a few times i realize this was something awesome. I went online and stumbled from server to server trying to play. To my dismay everywhere i went tags of Noob kept flaming my screen continuously. Everyone was quick to judge, but slow to help. I was almost ready to just quit the game and move on to something else when by some stroke of luck I found my way to the JA.
Here I met people, teachers and students alike who were patient with me, and helped me. They not only taught me how to fight, but how to act and how to have fun. After several months here I have learned much in the ways of the force, and am trying to help others as they have helped me.

This is what the JA is all about, and this is my thank you to everyone who has showed me such a great time here. There are so many of you that If i tried to name you I would surely miss someone, but I think you all know who you are.

I look forward to all duels, and gun fights, and fun times, and thanks again for everything!

I asked carve errr.. biohazard, "who are the uber baddest pub servers to go on", he gave me a few and i tried them out. They were very cool guys and they even welcomed me and asked me stop by again sometime. Just a little testament to what he said. But, some ppl have different experiences, ya know:). O yeah- and btw all those servers i was told about (with a few exceptions) were duel servers. Carve made me a believer in duel servers, you get good practice against good opponents on them (as long as u dont encounter a kick whore for they kinda annoy me b/c they kick only to save their butt).

I did, which is why I offered to give some good ones ;)
So many people go to one, dislike it, and never go to any ever again. That's just bad :P

Maybe he didn't know of any good publics. Maybe others took advantage of him. Those are things you need to take into consideration. Everyone has there own oppinion in where they like to hang out. And not everyone likes to go to pubs.

To Vladarion, though I know you are in a better place - it makes me shake to think that you are not awake - when I think about you it makes me smile - i know you have gone into the clouds to head for heavens gates - you have changed my life - in an incredible way - and so I say thank you - may you rest in peace

There are good pubs out there. Just because the JA has friendly people doesn't mean there's no benefit to running around in the 'nitty gritty.' I strongly recommend it. Never forget that we're here to learn (it's the Jedi Academy, not the Jedi Lounge) and part of learning means exposing yourself to varied styles and levels of skill. I once heard someone say that there were 'no skilled people in the publics.'
That's gotta be just about the biggest load of hoo-haw I've ever heard. If you want some suggestions just ask me, I got loads. ;)

p.s. Don't rule out duel servers either!

Welcome to the huge club for people that have fun in the JA and thank the people for it. Hope to see you on the servers. You may want to try the TFFA teams. You can join in, no matter how your skills are.

It seems that when a community is enclosed, and lamers are deterred by application forms and passwords, the people who come in are the good ones (usually) and that is why this has become a success...

I've been thinking of adding a "How'd you hear of us?" field to the application process. I'm curious about all that.

I'm glad you enjoy it here. :D
