Do we need the academy mod installed if we want to play on the academy servers? If so, I am having trouble installing it. Could someone give a more detailed run down of how to install it than the install in the user guide? I would like this information before 1:00 p.m. (central time) because I happen to have a class than. _______________ "The force is my greatest ally, do not underestimate it" |

No. It is serverside only, you only NEED the mod if you want to host a server with it. |

You must extract the file to gamedata. Not base or one you make, just gamedata, it will create it's folders itself. PS: You can also use the .bat to start up JK2 with the mod loaded. |

yeah, one problem. There is also a folder in between base and Jedi Outcast. Gamedata is where all my mods have gone. Is JA mod only useable when you put it in base, because I've put it into gamedata/academy. _______________ "The force is my greatest ally, do not underestimate it" |

All the files go in a folder called "Academy" in the "Jedi Knight 2: Outcast/base/" folder. For me this would put them all in "C:\Program Files\Lucasarts\Jedi Knight 2:Outcast\base\academy" Once they are there you run the mod by opening the game, going to options, clicking the mod button (bottom of sidebar), and double click on the mod. Then the screen goes flickery for a moment and when you get back to the main scren you are in. But! You don't have to open the mod in order to play on the servers (don't have to download it either). Just join the academy server and if you got it, then it auto opens, and if you don't it just saves a cfg file with whatever keys you bind and other settings changes. Note: You will have tp rebind your keys because it won't use your current defaults. Then when in the academy mod it will use whatever is bound there and when playing normal you get your defaults as you origionally put them. Changes in one will not effect both. You must change both to actually change both. _______________ I must not fear . Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear . here we go: OPen the zip up, and extract all files with their correct folder structure to the gamedata folder in your JK2 directory. Next, load up multiplayer, go to options --> mods --> JA Mod 1.4 Hope that helps _______________ The Notorious Conversation Killer |
