After Ep I came out I predicted that Ep II would begin with Jar Jar having one of his wacky accidents...resulting in the severing of Anakin's hand. That would explain the bionic hand on Darth Vader, and it would be what pushes him over the edge and causes him to kill Jar Jar on the spot and turn to the Dark Side. Sadly, Ep II did not begin like that. Seriously...In Ep II, not only was there a lot less Jar Jar, but what Jar Jar we saw was considerably toned down. He was a character, rather than a charicature. If Jar Jar in Ep I had been like he was in Ep II he wouldn't have been so despised. But after Ep I it's impossible not to hate him. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |

You know at first glance I thought Jar Jar was pretty much a prejudice rip off of little black Sambo. Was it necessary to have him say things like "massa" and have him talk like a KKK impressionists version of a slave? No it wasn't and it was rude to have made Jar Jar like that, but what's done is done and you can't hate the character or the people who made him but I can dislike the fact that whoever thought Jar Jar would be more likable as they did is a real creep! _______________ "Look not back in anger, nor forward in fear But around you in awareness." I think they wanted a replacement for R2 and C3PO. like C3PO is in ep 4-6 a little funny, the quotes he makes etc. So they needed an replacement in Ep 1, and to make a decent step out of the movies, they had a little rol for him in ep 2. edit: But I do not like him, I would not miss him, unlike R2 and C3PO.... _______________ One night, I was lying in my bed, looking up at the stars and I said to myself: "Where the h*** is my ceiling?! Plo I'll make this very clear to you. Most of us don't like Ewoks and Jar Jar not because of what they did in the movies, but because they were put into the movies all together. Lucas should have come up with better creations to fulfill the roles these characters did instead of these annoying things. I think Jar Jar hit us all abit hard because we were not ready for such a character. It had been years since ROTJ and we had are opions of what the Episode 1 would be like. And when Jar Jar showed up with all CGI well that turned alot of us diehard starwars fans off in a hurry. All in all I think Jar Jar was a cute but very disturbing character. I feel Lucas needed to give us the feeling Jar Jar was an idot because he needed us to feel that way when Jar Jar stood up in eps2 to make a motion to give Senator Palpatine all those powers. Thus Jar Jar with his own stupidity created the situation that Palpatine used to get and gain the power to start his plans into action.
