I'm going to give Matrix 2 my vote, but that's not to say that I don't think Pirates Of The Caribbean Pwn's. ![]() ![]() _______________ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Gosh, inflation, gas prices, and urban sprawl....all in the poll on best summer movie. Hmmm...maybe this is the crazy stuff forum. Oh well. 28 Days Later is the best! Matrix and T3 pretty cool, but had about 10x more money. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jacen, one of the problems of the cities in the US is the urban sprawl that developed over the last century. Many cities in the US don't have public transportation alternatives. Many of the jobs are in the downtown city areas, but the housing is in the outer city areas. For example, I have to travel 25 miles to work (each way). That is 50 miles a day and Memphis doesn't have a bus system that operates in my area so I HAVE to drive (and walking is obviously out of the question). Memphis is one of the worst at urban sprawl. Although Phoenix is probably the worst. But this is a typical problem in US cities (except for New York, Chicago and a few others that have good public transportation systems). ![]() _______________ Part-Time Player (Weekend Warrior). Okay, don't strangle me if I'm wrong, 'cause I don't have a car (no, my parent's doesn't, either ![]() Real men walk or take the bus. ![]() EDIT: Btw, the reason it's expensive here is that we don't have our own oil, we have to import it. Smily, that's cheap compare to gas in Europe from what I've been told. Most countries in Europe tax gas even more than our Federal and State governments over here. BTW, 1 gallon is 3.78 litres for any Europeans that wanna compare gas prices. ![]() _______________ Part-Time Player (Weekend Warrior). I cast my vote for 28 Days later. I'm already seeing many articles reference it as a base, so I'm guessing it will become legend like Omega Man, Soylent Green, etc. The others are good films, but they used a lot more money, bigger-name actors, super special effects, etc. I'd put 28 Days later as an equal in how good of a movie it was, to all the others, but when you look at what 28 Days Later had to accomplish, between the actors, budget, storyline, and limited releases, it did a lot better than any of the others. So it was the underdog that kept up with the other big-budget films. So it gets my vote. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. I might not have been to a 'giant ass theater' after American scale, but I have been in somewhat large theaters. And yes, the sound does pwn (weeee, THX). But that isn't really good enough for me to go in there and spend lots of money. |

jesus Jacen, that really is pathetic. theaters are awesome. maybe you just havent had the expierince of going to a giant ass theater that makes you permently deaf _______________ "We keep odd hours...." ----------------------- They Live, We Sleep |

Smily, what are ticket prices like in NY these days? In Memphis you can see a Matinee for around $5 to $6. Regular price is usually $7.50. And I am a HUGE movie buff. I not only go see most of the movies at the theatre, but have a large DVD collection with a great (IMHO) home theatre system. Unfortunately, I have to wait until I buy a house before I can really start cranking up the sound... ![]() _______________ Part-Time Player (Weekend Warrior).
