Yeah NY is WAY expensive. It is like $2.00 for regular gasoline and like $2.20 for higher grades per gallon!!

$10.50? $10.50?!!

Is everything so expensive in NY (said the boy from the most expensive country in the World...)?

Bandit!!! Tickets at my theater are $9.25 for adults!! $6.25 if you make the matinee which is only the first show in each theater. Prices in NYC range up to $10.50!! Its nuts! :D

I cast my vote for 28 Days later. I'm already seeing many articles reference it as a base, so I'm guessing it will become legend like Omega Man, Soylent Green, etc.

The others are good films, but they used a lot more money, bigger-name actors, super special effects, etc.

I'd put 28 Days later as an equal in how good of a movie it was, to all the others, but when you look at what 28 Days Later had to accomplish, between the actors, budget, storyline, and limited releases, it did a lot better than any of the others.

So it was the underdog that kept up with the other big-budget films. So it gets my vote.

That theater you're talking about isn't called The Rave, is it? That's the theater I go to. :D And the price is pretty much the same...$5-6
_______________
Wanna know what my name means? Peralos Ale'Velkyrii: Perilous Drunken Angel, or PDA for short. :P
Perilous, because I'm bound to get into fights I can't win. Drunken, because ALE! Angel, because a valkyrie is basically an angel of Odin.
I'm here to send you to the afterlife, but I can't gurantee I'll be stable enough to win a fight. :D

I might not have been to a 'giant ass theater' after American scale, but I have been in somewhat large theaters. And yes, the sound does pwn (weeee, THX). But that isn't really good enough for me to go in there and spend lots of money.

I hate watching movies in the theater, might as well wait a year or three and watch it for free in TV.

Smily, what are ticket prices like in NY these days? In Memphis you can see a Matinee for around $5 to $6. Regular price is usually $7.50.

And I am a HUGE movie buff. I not only go see most of the movies at the theatre, but have a large DVD collection with a great (IMHO) home theatre system. Unfortunately, I have to wait until I buy a house before I can really start cranking up the sound... :D

I've seen all of the above.

Pirates was VERY good.

I liked the fighting in the Matrix, but it wasn't nearly as good as the 1st.

I expected T3 to be utter crap, but it was a fun movie to watch.
