Stat Servers?

One thing I thought was really cool from the game Delta Force: Black Hawk Down was the Novaworld stat servers. They would keep track of your frags, deaths, head shots, and practically everything else you did and you could earn medals for it. Is there going to be anything similar with JK:JA? Could a mod be made to do somethind similar? Would the Jedi Academy approve such a mod, since it imposes a sort of rank?

I actually asked for that a few weeks ago in the JAC forum. Dj hasnt responded. I figured to at least put that on the home server, since that is the most used. We'll see what happens when the new website comes out.

If you want it for your own servers, here it is. They also have it for other games, browse the site.

BUMP! I like having stats. I know a few JK2 networks that have a stats system and it gives you points for wins and takes them when u lose. There are www.darkstats.com and www.bladeworks.net that do this. The higher your stats, the more points taken if u lose to a lower ranked opponent. Very cool IMO but ppl would prolly make it too much of a competition and less of a place to learn if this was implemented. Unless we had A few different JA servers. Say home, NL, a duel server, CTF server/instagib. I don't know if this would be even possible but it's just a thought.

Yeah, I remember that. I thought it was pretty cool too. It just sucked cuz I wasn't good enough at the time (and probably still not) to show up on the stat page.

But, I would like to see that if at all possible.

we used to have stats on our servers a long time ago but they have since been taken down. the stats recorded who killed who with what weapon. it was pretty nifty.

Will it include it : No
Could it be modded : Possibly but HIGHLY unlikely unless you get a black hawk down player who can also code :D

The reason: They are different types of games. Jedi Knight is what I like to call a 'bouncy shooter' whilst BHD is more of a realism shooter.

Bouncy shooters include halflife, quake, unreal. In these games you jump about alot, its more 3d, you can get hit quite a bit before you die, its just very unrealistic (yet obviously very fun)

Realistic shooters are games like counterstrike (yes I know it runs off halflife :))BF1942, Medal of Honour etc. These are based on real life principles, you can't strafe jump or go fast, you can't fall off high stuff and live, the guns will kill realisitcally, the guns are realistic in the first place (not big clumpy glowing balled energy weapons, which pwn :P)
