So yeah, you all know what happened. Now what should I do with my Eclipse? Engine if first priority, but what next? And what about body work? Any suggestions? Actually, a wing on the back is a plan. I have also seen some weird fin things that you mount in front/below your headlights. Kinda funny if you look at it for a minute and wonder '......what is THAT for?' _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

Simply put, got into a wreck with a ditz, insurance said it was her fault so their paying for it, not me (although I DO have pity on the poor girl.) Guy I met at the shop offerd me about two thousand more for the car (a Toyota Supra that I had put a lot of wrench time into) than I had paid for it and I took it. So now that I have the time (and the money) I have started working on a 2002 Mitshubishi Eclipse that I bought for....well, it was cheap, and I still dont know why. I am halfway expecting to have the transmission fall out or something. In any case, last night was GREAT! Hooked up with the same guys downtown and I smoked every one of them. Even the phruit with the NOS-equipped Horizon . On the few good runs that I had I averaged about a 12.5-14 quarter mile. Pretty slow, but I should be running at LEAST mid-to low elevens by next week. _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

Standard on some GT or GTS models of most cars, you go back to '94 and earlier models and they almost never came as stock parts. Nice, did you mean cold-air induction or cold-air intake? I know a lot of people who confuse the two. So you got a site or two to get body kits? Nice! Post 'em already! So you got a V-8? What kinda hp are you grinding out of it? I have seen a few good body kits on Eclips's but I am going to hold off on the body work until I finish the engine. _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

Sared, very impressive  that should own the road. I am a proud owner of a 2000 mustang GT 4.6 V-8 Triple black w/ black leather interior. wootish i'd say. I have sub-frame connectors, steeda short throw shifter, Double hook clutch quadrant. There's more on the way, I plan on adding an x-pipe, cat-back exhaust, cold air induction, mod chip, pro-charger (long term)EDIT: I love supras, I originally wanted one but they are a bit expensive for me. HAHAHAH! WOOOOOT! WHEEEEE!!!! And yes, my engine did come in today. Just got a call from the shop saying that it got in so they should have it in and ready to roll by this evening. Meaning that I will spend a few hours before/after diner adjusting the unavoidable screw-ups that the shop left for me before I go out tonite. For those that are wondering, its a DOHC Turbocharged V-8 that carries a nice 410 horses when you dont mess with it. After plugging in the performance parts that I had left over from the Supra then It should be running approximatley 440-495, borderline 500 when I am done with it. Next step? Replace all the heavy crap on the interior with some bucket seats. Then go slap the 19' rims from the Supra (since it came with Type-S wheels, rated up to 190 MPH) The seats should be in by Tuesday and the rims will be an easy twenty-minute job. You said it silk. Actually, the V-8 I am dropping into it is an American made engine. I am buying the car for the looks, not the preformance, that I'll add later... Edit: P.S. The Supra that got banged up, the TOYOTA Supra, the IMPORT, the 'Rice Burner' as you call it was running a 50 hp shot 2-stage NOS system from Nitrous Express.  _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. Dude, I dislike Rice Rockets. I have no beef with people who accept imports for being economy cars. I can't stand huge wings and obnoxious muffler noises. I conned a ricer into putting his engine on "the juice (NOS)" and now he has a hole in his block. The moron. Theres a reason why I rarely drive my 1967 Mustang. She actually put me through a set of excersises today after she did only-God-knows-what on my back. Told me pretty much the exact same thing: get the exersises down pat and make sure to do them when you wake up and when ya go to bed. Its actually pretty good, I needed to keep myself active one way or another. (P.S. I dont really know if the fifty crunches in the morning that she told me to do was for my back or because she knew I was lazy ) _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |

Feelin' a bit better today, was about to schedule an appointment at a chiropractor when a friend called me up and asked how I was doing. I told her I was hurting and was about to go get my back worked on when she stopped me and came over and walked on my spine for a few minutes. Twisted one thing one way and another thing another way and POW! Next minute, I stand up feeling a little woozy and of all things, my back feels fine! She said she would have to do it a couple more times before the pain would stop altogether so I am all hyped up about it. Couple more days and my back should be as good as new! Woot! Like I said, back is doing better that the car, they gave me a bottle of pain killers to take every few hours when the pain gets bad. They also said that if it keeps hurting after a week that I need to go in again and have them take some X-Rays. I wouldn't have had the option of buying a new car if it had been MY fault so, even though I kinda feel sorry for her, I am glad her insurance is covering me. _______________ I'm crazy, not stupid. |
