I've been looking at retired users profiles, and I've noticed that some of the has the title "Oldbie Council no. _". So I was getting a bit curious...what was the oldbie days like?  _______________ In the navy and LOVING it!

Ive been lookin through the OLD OLD OLD! News and found some great stuff! Check this out -2300 score! He's higher because for the first half of his i was dueling and winning  Im TC btw And we all remember lightning rods famous "*slaps on Essa Rios music *dances" http://www.thejediacademy.net/files/essa.mp3 For those of you who dont know L-Rod, he was one of the best saber fighters out there. Almost (really almost) equalled phr00ts skill. Thats all i could dig up, the rest is kinda... DELETED!! Does anyone remember a guy by the name of Sladious by any chance? I WAS around soon after the JA began, but I wasn't very widely known. I took too long of a vacation and my account expired, so I decided to have a new alias and not bother with the old. LOL. So, I WAS Sladious, but now I'm...Ale-Whatchamacallit... LOL _______________ Wanna know what my name means? Peralos Ale'Velkyrii: Perilous Drunken Angel, or PDA for short. Perilous, because I'm bound to get into fights I can't win. Drunken, because ALE! Angel, because a valkyrie is basically an angel of Odin. I'm here to send you to the afterlife, but I can't gurantee I'll be stable enough to win a fight.

Why arent i given an oldbie no. ? Im an oldbie too! I remember loads with phr00t's (I want him back!) rocket chases (As i was the one who shot the rocket ) It was fun chasing after him thru the academy, into the pit room etc. Though i couldnt keep up as my strafe jumping wasnt as refined back then.I remember the old Pit room! That was the best! Every now and then someone would stay alive and we'de all whip out our pistols and pummel them. I think i DFA'd one, even though we both died lol. Then i came up with the technique to stay alive, which i tried to keep a secret, but i couldn't lol. Well, im back anyway. HEY, YOU FORGOT ME!!!!! HE FORGOT ME BAD PJ!!Well, I wasn't actually a LOT on the servers back then. I had telephone connection with my dad and my ping was really horrid. Still learned a lot though in those days. And made some friends, not very much. My parents waited to buy a computer that would run JK2 till december 2002. I started playing then, and I've never grown sick of this wonderful game! Now I wish I could join the Academy a little earlier...I tried one time in February or so, but I couldn't enter academy.jediknightii.net.. But now I'm here, bugging Jacen Aratan! haha i remember those rocket chases... that was fun to watch! my favorite memory is of the slap distance contest with me and avalon, and the beginning of the trip mine cages, when zip would use a bug in the slap command to escape a heavy cage... good times _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me This comment was edited by doobie on Sep 04 2003 04:48am. |

Back last year, things were much more relaxed. However, there was a fair share of trouble. How can anyone forget Lianiotte's hissy fits, and phr00t being chased by a rocket from one side of the JA map to the other? MEMORIIIEEEES! I like the way things are now. Aeth's right there was a lot more to discover about the game back then (things like phr00t's IDFA). There was PLENTY of laming on the servers back then as well. We didnt have ranks, nor forums. We are a LOT more structured now. I ran a game server out of my bedroom and was tearing my hair out at the jediknightii.net server. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Yeah, odlbie days rocked. I know DJ proclaimed himself Oldbie no. 0. That was LOL, I was no.8. Although I had been longer with JA than some others who had lower numbers. Some ppl took it seriously as a sort of superior stuff. We played a little with them. I disagree with the secrets of JKII BTW. In this time, you can develop a new technique too, and make life very hard for others. Well, anyway, just wanted to say that it used to rock even more then it rocks now. That's lie JIM Oldie days rocked, but still I say they were much more uncivilised. No knights, much more laming and all. It took a while to get the good behaviour most of the guys show today. Beside that, it was maybe a bit crazier. The time when LAMM started... that was really the best time I had with JK2 Guys were more like a family, you know, feeling that "we-are-together" flair. And there JK2 was more unexplored of course. Today, you can hardly find a new move. Maybe a variation, but nothing new. A new strategy could develop in a blink of an eye and you had to change all your fighting rythm ^^Oh, and btw, the Oldbie Council was just a silly thing of mine Lots of oldies were retiring and those who stayed started to feel lonely. So, I had the idea of getting some kind of Oldbie Council to meet and talk about oldie days, complain about new members and all that. Dont blame me, I was young and needed the money Well, Tiamat even build a website, but it never took of as I didnt have the time and will to push things.
