This site is good for information on ISP's(Internet Service Providers). It alos has a great little toolset for testing your internet connection and the forums are helpful for tweaking your pc to get the most out of your connection.

Do you have windows XP or 2000 and a great video card? Seem to be stuck at about 60FPS, even though you say like com_maxfps 120? Simple fix http://www.ryanmh.com/files/reforce.zip is a fix for a Windows Bug that locks your frame rate at 60 fps when you can get higher. All you do is unzip that run it, click auto populate, hit Apply and reboot and boom FPS allover the place

Help!

My computer's not reading discs. I wanted to play a computer game so I put the CD-ROM in, but the auto-play didn't start running so then I opened My Computer and noticed that the computer game's icon had not appeared. I clicked the DVD/CD-RW Drive icon and it took a while to load, but eventually lead me to the window for an apparently empty disc.

I checked to see if the disc spun by noting where the disc was once and then after I put it in, and it was revealed that the disc's position did move which means that the disc does spin, but apparently the icon in My Computer doesn't change.

Edit: Also, I tested several other discs on my computer (both games and music) and they didn't work either.

Orion, i need your help again. I just got a new computer, because one of the old ones died. It must be to good for jedi academy, i think. I can play games such as Unreal Tournament 3 on this new computer, but when it comes to Quake III and Jedi Academy (both use the quake 3 engine), the graphics lag. I would appreciate your help. The main things that i saw, were all of the sound stuff says disabled failed, or is unsupported etc. Also, this is the main message --- ambient sound initialization ---

Aye, so basically, I'm running XP SP2, and my explorer.exe is messed up. When I load my computer, it'll appear for a second and vanish, leaving only my desktop image. When I try to execute it again via taskmanager, it appears for a second or two then goes again. During this second or two, it works normally though. Bloody weird stuff. :/

Ok guys your my last resort i've tried everywhere and this is a long shot.

Does anyone have any ideas why i can't keep dismounted store.exe on exchange server 2003 to do an offline defrag. Everytime i take it offline then run the defrag utility eseutil for some reason it turns it online again before it completes.

I'm all out of ideas i've tried all the forum i can think of and nothing so i'm hoping someone has had the same problem and knows how to fix it.

Yeah, I think tarpman's right.

Malloc stands for Memory ALLOCation, so it may be that your RAM is filled to the top.
Try pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE and check the status of your RAM (lower right corner).
Try closing some background programs like firewalls and virus-scanners. Some tend to eat up your RAM.

Hi, Smily.
Have you checked the settings for the EZ Trust Armor, to check that it doesn't block the internet altogether? I've read that Ez Trust uses the same engine as ZoneAlarm, so try making sure that your browser is allowed to access the internet. (Probably shown by a green V when allowed)

Cool thanks for the advice. The internet isnt blocked. Koyi and I went through the options to make sure of that. Somehow Koyi got things working again. He spent a lot of time working on it and it seems better now. What he did, I have no clue!!

I've had problems installing this game as well, when I try to install it through my DVD-drive. If I use my CD-writer to install it though, there seems to be no problem. I always get some weird funky error saying that something overrun, and the error does not occur when I install via my other drive.
So if you have two drives, I first advise you to try both of them.

If that didn't work, it's always worth checking the background programs, try shutting down everything you're not using.

Also, does the installer actually freeze up or stop responding (and has to be closed by CTRL+ALT+DELETE or a reboot) or does the progress bar just stop at 1%?

thx for the suggestions, and on my computer i have a combo drive, so i cant do choice 1, but choice 2 is that after 1% on installation, it freezes and i try to close the install, but then it says not responding and the only thing i can do to escape the freeze is to manually shut off my computer

If you watch the CPU usage in Task Manager, is there a brief spike in CPU usage between a right-click and the menu appearing?

well the spike happens at the moment menu appears.

well in windows explorer and desktop i think.

it also has the same type of delay when trying to sort files in right click menu and doing the copy-paste thing (doesnt lag after pressing copy, but there is a long delay after pressing paste).
i can go around the last one tho by draging things with right click and pressing 'copy here'. no delay this way.

Do you have any programs installed (f.ex. archive utilities) that add entries to the default right-click menu? (f.ex. 'Add to ZIP Archive')
