Hey man I'm having a little javascript problem. It all started on fileplanet.com. Downloading never used to be a problem but one day I went to go click a download link and it never worked. I tried on several others and nothing happens. At the bottom of explorer it just says javascript and a bunch on numers. Now, it happens to about %40 of all links I try to open that have something to do with javascript. I can't even create a stupid cheap free website because of it. Still no luck. I have the 512 and a 256 of DDR333 RAM. They were working, but now they don't like me. The board will only take one stick now, and if I place both in (now), it reads my 2500+ as a 3200+, and won't boot. I won't even SAY the errors I get when I just place in the 512 (DDR333) and the 512 (DDR400). I did manage to adjust the timings by percentage, running them at 333. This was working with all RAM in, but then it junked out. I now can only place ONE stick in, so I have the 512 DDR400. The config of the slots is as follows: ORANGE PURPLE (Capacitors) ORANGE PURPLE And the RAM is configured as follows in them: NONE NONE (Capacitors) 512(DDR333) NONE Please help out, and clarify as to this "order" thing. Ulic: some Gigabyte boards don't like RAM of different sizes and/or speeds - I should know, I had the same problem a while ago. Make sure all your motherboard and Windows drivers etc are updated. In the BIOS, go to the screen with the RAM information, and manually set the RAM speed to 333 MHz. Like Orion said, try swapping them. And if it still doesn't work, take it back and get a 512 instead. Not a Samsung one. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. I'm not sure this is the place I should post this but I do not know another place here we go: Yesterday I de-installed JK3 because my favorite server list wasn't working (every server was named 'bot' and no ping or map was shown). That all went quite well but the sh!t started when I tried to reinstall the game. I started the standard instalation procedure and everything went fine untill 47% where you should put assets1 in your diskdrive. I put the second disk into my dear pc thingy but my pc claimed it wasn't on this disk. I am very sure it is on it because I looked trough the files it contains and assets1 was with them. I've tried to install the game manually but I'm far to stupid for that. So mr Orion, can you help me. ps. Hi there, I have a dual-boot PC, Win98SE+Win2K, I use IE6+OE6 (sigh) and I recently performed all the critical updates via Windows Update on both OS's. Problem: on Win98SE everything works fine, Win2K: OE lost all my msgs and stopped working normally (can't read/send/receive msgs, button toolbar messed up). I have 4 email accounts (1 IMAP, 3 pop3), I uninstalled manually OE as mentioned on Micrososft Support, fixed the necessary registry keys and re-installed. Re-created all accounts and tested: everything ok. Performed update again, OE screwed up again. Any hint would be great... now I am forced to use Win98SE to read/send email, which I don't like at all... OK, I'm trying to mix DDR333 with DDR400 on a Gigabyte GA-7N400L Motherboard. I currently have on 512 stick and one 256 stick (DDR333, Samsung Chips). I just bought a 512 Stick of DDR400, also Samsung. I add the new chip, Windows hates me. I take it out, Windows works as best as it ever will (stupid Windows). So, I know I need an adjustment in BIOS, but no luck, even with the Ctrl-F1 unlocking of advanced features, can't find anything to set the speeds of all of them to 333. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. Hey Orion, I dont know whats going on with my PC but when I browse I cannot see any animated gif, and some gif simply never shows up. Im using default browser settings, got macromedia flash player and shockwave player installed but it doesnt help. Do you know what may be the cause of this? Do I need a specific viewer to view them? The PC I use at school works fine, I see the animations but it doesnt work on the one Im using at home. ty edit: Actually I found the problem. My firewall was blocking it. Now my question is......do you know what port the animated gif use? Cause I dont want to take out my firewall just to be able to view these gifs. There has to ba a way to configure it so we can still view the animation.... edit2: Alright nvm this post Orion I fixed it This comment was edited by R!øT on Apr 27 2004 05:46pm. |

Is there some way to get QuickTime 6 and an older version (1.2 I believe ) to co-exist? Case in point: I want to play Myst (Windows XP, 98/ME emulation enabled), but Myst doesn't know about QT 6. Also, thanks for the stuff on lerping. And Nobel, I ran into the same problem with LEGO Island (the first one ) a while ago with Windows 2000 - which, by the way, runs games faster and more smoothly than XP, even with XP's visual themes turned off. Older games that were designed to run specifically on 95/98 and NOT NT 4 won't run on 2000/XP unless you use XP's emulation feature. _______________ Saving the world, one kilobyte at a time. I'm askin 'cause i have a game (OLD ) and its build for windows 98 when i had windows 98, it worked fine, now i dug up the game, and it wont work! I think its because of the OS change. I searched High and low for updates and pachtes for the game. Cheked out ALL the tech support, Nothing. Lerp: Quasi-acronym for Linear Interpolation, used as a verb or noun for the operation. "Bresenham's algorithm lerps incrementally between the two endpoints of the line." Its also probably used in the BSP Tree generated for a level, to tell which node a player is in, or is about to be in for rendering pruposes. _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. You could also try the card in an alternate PCI slot. Though rare, ports do occassionally go bad. That or you might not have completely gotten the card into the slot. Orion! I just wanted your opinion on this. I was reading PC World magazine, and I came across an article telling you about something you could install between your MB and processor that allows you to use a faster processor than your MB supports. They recommended it for P4 systems that came out in like 2001 or so (like mine). Dell's site says that my MB will support up to a 1.8Ghz, yet this place says they can boost it up to 2.6Ghz. Is this something you recommend? Here's the link to the site. I posted this here so others could benefit from this info. Thanx man!
