Ok Here's a post with some usefull links. I will keep updating this as needed. If you don't know about this site and you are a Windows User you need to know about this. This site will patch your os with any of the bugs in any Windows OS. http://www.windowsupdate.com A good piece of software to have. This will scan your computer for any kind of spyware that any freeware or shareware program that you download and install. http://www.lavasoftusa.com or you can try spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html *NOTE* Don't have both installed or they will say each other is spyware. I like spybot better. A good free anti-virus program.. If you don't have a anti-virus I recommend you do. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php This site is good for information on ISP's(Internet Service Providers). It alos has a great little toolset for testing your internet connection and the forums are helpful for tweaking your pc to get the most out of your connection. http://www.broadbandreports.com Do you have windows XP or 2000 and a great video card? Seem to be stuck at about 60FPS, even though you say like com_maxfps 120? Simple fix http://www.ryanmh.com/files/reforce.zip is a fix for a Windows Bug that locks your frame rate at 60 fps when you can get higher. All you do is unzip that run it, click auto populate, hit Apply and reboot and boom FPS allover the place _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. /me throws a brick with cVar written on it at chosen one.. thats what a cVar is Cvars are registered variables, which gives the ability to Game/mod creators to allow the public to change current settings to almost anything. However, the mod creators needs to create each cvar and where to place them. For example in the JAR mod there is the cVar g_mEnforceDuel, This cVar if Set to a value of 1, will allow for as many Private duels as you want on a server. That's caused by the "pure server" option being set on the server. It runs an MD5 of it's pk3 files (it generates a number based on the file size of the pk3 files) and runs an MD3 of your matching pk3 files. If the MD5's dont's match the server thinks you're using a hacked pk3 and kicks you out. Why does it do this after getting disconnected? Beats me. Maybe it writes somethign to the pk3 on the fly... _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

Hey Orion, This has to do with a gameplay problem Im having This is the message I get EVERYTIME I disconnect from one server then try to reconnect right after to the same srv. Unpure client detected. PK3 file unreferrenced.... Why does this happends? And its not only to me I see this hapenning to a lot of ppl all the time. What I usually do is simply close the game and restart it, that fix it. But its kindda annoyin to restart the game all the time. Is there another way to fix this? Also why does that happends?  thx |

It's me I'm back with a new HD yaay!! I was just wondering, should I do something specifically on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to keep my HD healthy? they replace it for free???!!! god damn it, and I shove in a 62 Euros new HD??!! darn it... oh well... My pc is running fine now... I just got one question though. I installed a Virusscan and we have a couple of profiles... It loads up on the Admin profile, but not on the user profile from my Step-dad... And I can't figure out why. It's not in the Start Menu over there, but it is in the Admin profile. It was installed on an Admin profile, btw.. Any ideas? _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! Ok, I did the system scan, and my problems were ok for like three frikkin' minutes... I don't know what it said because I was asleep at the time, but my Step-dad told me it was all ok. (In other words: he had no idea of what the darn screen told at the end and shut it down). SystemScan also saves to a LogFile, but I've been unable to find it. The clicks are back, and worse than ever, and my pc freezes up even if I try to start a normal scan. So, I'm thinking it really is my HD. Oh btw, I checked for Virusses-> Clean I checked for Ad-Ware/Spyware, and it found 214 files, which I deleted. So, I'm just going to start making backups, and get a new HD ASAP. Bail u didnt say it comes from inside the rig... omg.. are u sure it comes from where the HD is located ? do a deep scna with scandisk (yes, the one that takes hours) and see what it comes up with. let it run over night, I suggest. alternatively, use any other HD program u got, just do the deep analysis scan thingy. that scans every cylinder of your HD, and if some are bad, they're reported. _______________ One of the Belouve boys, founder of the mighty FiZZsters Midbie council #20 - Fizz - #1933 - Jan '03 - Aug '04 "Renfield, you idiot!" |

sounds like u got some bad blocks/sectors on ur drive, and its getting ready to kick the bucket. The best thing u can do its use the computer as little as possible to save what life the drive has left in it. Hey Orion I think I might have a problem with my Hard Drive here. Every once in a while, (about an hour ago now) I hear a click which is coming from the inside of my computer. When it clicks, my computer completely freezes up, and after a while, a second click is heard, and the computer works again. I was thinking something along the lines of my processor, or maybe my Cooler but every time I restart my computer (Normal way, you know: Start-> Shut down (or whatever it is in English) and when I'm back in Windows after restarting, the 'Checking Hard Drive for Errors' window comes up. This only comes up when you've resetted your pc, right? Now it's showing up every time, and every time it performs a Hard Drive surface scan for errors. I haven't encountered this for like... ever... and I'm really confused:s Could it be that my harddrive is malfunctioning? --BHB-- _______________ Visit the Belouve Family Website! Yeah, I guess from what I found on the Splinter Cell forums is that it is the game, in conflict with the Audigy card. I'll hunt down latest drivers, but it seems that it is a progam bug, and not a lot of people are happy about the conflicts between Splinter Cell and Audigy cards. Hopefully it will be patched to fix the problem. But a few hundred people all crash in the same spots in the game. So it's a program problem, and I've seen similar GPF listings there. I did roll back the drivers, and it didn't fix it. Nor did changing the settings. The only thing that helps with the settings is turnig EAX off. This defeats the purpose of an Audigy sound card, right? But yeah, I did some tweaks in the Registry, the Game Settings, and in in MSCONFIG. You can get the program to run smootly by turning off a bunch of stuff in MSCONFIG's startup, and some services. There's also a registry trick that works well, and I can post it if requested. (I wish I could higlight that, it's good for most modern games/progs in WinXP). So, still problematic, but it's not a problem on my end. Thanks though. I learned stuff, so I'm happy. Just filling you in so that you might know what was up with the problem for future support of things like this. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace.
