I will try to respond to your problems and questions as soon as possble. Sorry I cannot answer any Mac question I haven't touched a Mac in years.. Edit: I have now expanded into helping with programming issues too  (C++ stuff only though) (This has been a Paid Service Annoucment.) Ok Here's a post with some usefull links. I will keep updating this as needed. If you don't know about this site and you are a Windows User you need to know about this. This site will patch your os with any of the bugs in any Windows OS. http://www.windowsupdate.com A good piece of software to have. This will scan your computer for any kind of spyware that any freeware or shareware program that you download and install. http://www.lavasoftusa.com or you can try spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html *NOTE* Don't have both installed or they will say each other is spyware. I like spybot better. A good free anti-virus program.. If you don't have a anti-virus I recommend you do. http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php This site is good for information on ISP's(Internet Service Providers). It alos has a great little toolset for testing your internet connection and the forums are helpful for tweaking your pc to get the most out of your connection. http://www.broadbandreports.com Do you have windows XP or 2000 and a great video card? Seem to be stuck at about 60FPS, even though you say like com_maxfps 120? Simple fix http://www.ryanmh.com/files/reforce.zip is a fix for a Windows Bug that locks your frame rate at 60 fps when you can get higher. All you do is unzip that run it, click auto populate, hit Apply and reboot and boom FPS allover the place _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. OK, I'm looking for a useful link/book. I'm trying to figure out Linux more, but most of the books I can get for free are from 1998. Not helpful. So if you know of a site/book to address modern Linux or such, that'd be great (I am reading the older books for basics). Here is some help on what I am using as a second OS: Mandrak Linux 9.2, with the KDE interface. I will move up to GNOME or something else with more skill. So if you can find something for the KDE (KDE for Dummies?) that would be great. Free is great too. Oh, and since I have a stupid connection at home, you may e-mail me as well. I think I got an answer for my previous question so now I got a new one   (i deleted my old question)In an installation-documentation file I see that I can either make a .a or a .so file to use with my programs. That is if I include the header file I d/led in my program I have to use the .a or the .so file (whichever I choose). My questions are: => It says that .a is archive file and .so is shared object. Wtf is an archive file? => What's the difference between the two? => How do I link either one with my program? I thought that I'm supposed to link only .o files :/ BTW: I'm using GCC 3.3.2 if that's any useful for the reply _______________ Your friends of today, are your enemies of tomorrow. I already have a unbind all command but and my configuration is perfect the only thing that is weird is that if I change my skin during the game thats the skin I'll have when I log back even though in my script I have the /model bla lba bla command. I'll try to exec the script from the autoexec maybe it will work Thanks |

i had posted this same thing on general forum, and sum1 suggested me to post it here... i'm having several game crashes when playing jedi academy. the game hangs, starts again, crashes and stuff, just while playing. every other game (sof2, jk2, cod) runs just fine. i have an athlonXP 2000+, asus radeon 9600xt, win2k sp4. has any1 encountered any similar problems? thanks, jools _______________ [22:43] <[jools]> someday, i'll write on essay about feeling 60 but being 23 [22:44] <Jacen_Aratan> I think it is time to hand over a special thing... only given it out one time before... back in October or so... dont think you can delete your script, the only thing you can really do is have a 'perfect' version of your config that you want to start up with every time, like defaultcfg.cfg and in your auto exec execute taht script. Or you can have a key bound to unbind all, which will remove all binds you have in jampconfig.cfg _______________ When a Man lies he murder's some part of the world. Hi Orion I have a question to ask on scripting for JKA. I've done a configuration script with just binding and stuff like this fir JKA and I want to know if I can add DOS command in it. For example I would like to be able to delete the jampconfig.cfg everytime I load my script. The reason for this is that this file is genereted automatically when you lod on a server. It keeps all ur configuration into this file and when u come back you still have the same config. Now the problem is that if during the time I play I change skin then best time I will come I will still have the last skin used until I reload my script. (even though my script name is autoexec, so it loads when I open the game). Is there a way I can ask my script to delete all kind of jampconfig.cfg file? Your help would be appreciated. |

I wouldn't knock the possibility that it could be a huge load of spyware on the computer all running at once. Try a spyware scanner. heres a real challenge if you want one... My comp keeps suddenly freezing and or the sound will suddenly shut down on me. Called Dell, cant speak a lick of english, and they told me a few things that slowed the problem but it still appeared to happen. GO FIGURE, this is extremely fustrating as you can imagine, also because this is a brand new comp. Frosty: It's called a delete key Actually, unless you're administrator account I don't think even thatr works. A friend was trying to uninstall it and it just kept reappearing. Anyways, just ignore it and next time you open an avi or mpeg, right click, goto open with, select from list, choose a new program and click always open with this program. _______________ I must not fear .
