Since the incident of 9/11, one of the worlds most famous question is... "Where were you at 9/11?" ...and may i ask the many, MANY people of the Jedi Academy to post and say where they were at 9:13am September 11th. ------------------------------------------------- "My heart goes out to all friends and families of the victims of 9/11. May they all rest in peace" ------------------------------------------------- _______________ - Even if Carlsberg made "w*nkers", Christiano Ronaldo would still be the biggest "w*nker" in the world |

I just read Cuzza's little thing that his dad told him. That was very very false Cuzza. The terrorists used box cutters as weapons. Do you actually think they would have gotten through security even as it was then with guns in their carry ons? And I'm betting that all of them knew what was going to happen. You are talking about a religion where fanatics commit suicide bombings on an uncomfortably regular basis. And for what MoS says, he's entitled to his opinion, he doesn't like the fact that innocents have died in the war on terror any more than those killed on 9/11. All I have to say though is that US troops were not specifically targeting civilians in the conflicts. After the terrorists went flying civilian aircraft into civilian buildings they cannot make the same statement. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. I had just gotten to work and one of the girls in the office said that a plane hit one of the towers. I thought some guy got drunk and flew a 2-seater or something into it. When I heard about the 2nd plane, I knew something was amiss! Actually, my bro was in the 1st tower that got hit. Luckily, he was on the 14th floor. But, he went down most of the way, then back up, and then all the way back down and out. He made it out about 5 mins. b4 the other tower collapsed! ![]() Two of my HS buddies are NYFD and fortunately, they weren't on duty at the time, but spent A LOT of time there soon after. _______________ Midbie Council Member #2 - Profile ID 2073 | Member of B@rtM@ulS@ar | Owner of Monty's 2000th comment & D@RtHM@UL's 8100th comment | Former Padawan of SilkMonkey & Arcuss JA Goaltender & NHL Fan | Fellow Rush fan to Axion|Plo Koon is my oldest JA friend Post your RL pics HERE! | Post you JK2/JK3 screenies HERE! |

"ur backing up the terrorists? they are cowerdly" No, I'm not. What they did was wrong. However, I wouldn't call them cowardly. To THEM, it was a brave/just thing to do. Al Queda has some very skilled, very intelligent, very weathly members. To call them cowardly n00bs is like ignoring the problem all together. I was working on some homework before I had to head out to class. I turned the tv on just a minute or two before the second plane hit. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. Also remember that there were not just Americans that died on that day. Many nations had people working in those buildings. So while it may have happened on American soil it was not just American people that were affected. _______________ When you are going through Hell, keep going. -Sir Winston Churchill. i was awakened by my roommate, since my room was the only one with decent tv reception... we saw the second plane hit the building, then i went to class and my stupid dean started the class with "by the way, a plane hit the WTC"... idiot. and JJ, to answer your question, I know about lockerbie and i think it's just as disgusting as 9/11. i pose to you the fact that no other terrorist attack that I can think of was on this magnitude... at 200 people per plane lets say 800 passengers died, not to mention the 3-4000 in the towers and the (i believe) 80 at the pentagon... i don't have the exact numbers, but i'm pretty sure that no other major terrorist attack had the fatalities that 9/11 had. think about the oklahoma city bombing... i'm sure foreigners have HEARD of it, but it was a domestic militia doing the terrorism, with mainly american deaths, so i doubt it got the widespread press 9/11 did. consider also the symbolism of the WTC and the pentagon... a major economic and symbolic cornerstone for capitalist society and the headquarters of arguably the strongest military in history. those aren't minor place, therefore i think that the massive emphasis on the events and tragedy of that day compared to tragedies around the world is justified. if you consider al-queda a "nation" in the sense that it ostensibly has an army, the attacks were an act of war on, indisputably the most powerful nation on the planet. the only other international tragedy that i can think of that had the worldwide impact of 9/11 were the 1972 munich olympic shootings (even lockerbie was a localized-to-northern-europe event, although i would argue that any terrorism has worldwide consequences) _______________ -Academy Leader/Dictator/Defeater of DJ Sith and JACen Solo in the JAK+ Tournament -I do think it (the JA) will help convert dozens, maybe hundreds, to the dork nation... --me |

i was in the 7th grade wen it happened i was in math class then all of the sudden the tv turned on and i saw the 1st tower on fire.. =\ then all of the sudden a lil while later my class sees the other plane crashing into the 2nd tower.. i was speechless i will never forget what happened.. =| _______________ Axion - Yeah. |

9/11 was tragic...but I see your tragedy, and raise you a question. What if it didn't happen in America? What if it happened somewhere in Asia, or Africa? I seriously doubt it'd be remembered now. Nobody remembers the Locherbie bombing, for example. Most people who do remember barely care anyway. See what i'm getting at? I don't mean to sound insensitive, what happened was TERRIBLE...but I just think people need to realise that things like this happen ALOT MORE than you might realise. It's because it doesn't happen in America, that it isn't exactly headline news. |

ugh *hates political debates* I was at my bf's house (Koyi) sleeping when his mom came in and told us what happened. It was my day off from work. We got up and drove down to my house which was about 30 minutes from where he lived. We listened to the car stereo and watched TV to see exactly what happened. We both pretty much didnt speak that day because that attack was SOOOO close to home living in NY and all. That and i live about 15 minutes away from a major power plant that could melt us and NYcity in about 60 seconds. I was scared! REALLY SCARED!!!! Then later on i kept hearing of people i knew that died in the WTC. Now i know the USA is FAR from perfect but you gotta admit that what the terrorist did to us was wrong. SOOOOOO many innocent people died. It makes me sick. ![]() ![]() _______________ RIP MOM 06/29/58-07/31/08 Married to Koyi Donita 4/30/11 |
