A New Breed of Jedi

A new breed of Jedi has appeared in the Academy as of late. This new type of Jedi criticizes the game people are playing, calls them cheap, and reasons away any fun the other person might have had. This type of Jedi blames the type of saber the other Jedi is using and gives no congradulations to the person who won the duel. This type of Jedi acts as if they are god's gift to saber fighting and anyone who kills them must have done it out of pure luck.

This type of Jedi is a disgrace to the Academy.

Don't let this type of Jedi be you.

Well, I just agree on the fact that there are some ppl acting like that.

I did complain about ppl spamming katas. That's my flaw. But yet I do not complain anymore, I just took note of what ppl said in the threads and I keep practicing to wipe out the kata spammers.

Now, about the ppl complaining about the saberstyles and the fact that they're not balanced, I think that apart from the random damage problems, all styles have their strength and weaknesses.

For sure it was easier to adapt in JO since everybody had the same weapon but hell, what would be the point of having a JK3 without duals and saberstaff (specially when the game engine has not evolved too much) ?

Now, as someone suggested, it is better to ignore these ppl who are not as respectful as the rules specify they should be.

n00b, it IS annoying for sure. But you're not going to change ppl by a complaint in a forum. You have to teach them how to behave with wisdom and patience. And if they're not willing to follow the rules or act respectfully, then report to the enforcers.

As Doobie said, keep out of troubles and have fun. If someone tells you you won out of luck, do not reply. You know how you beated him/her, don't you ?

If you're writing such a thread, it means you are honest with ppl and yourself, so I bet you say someone when you got lucky or when you just did the right things to win.

That's my $0.02 :D

Look everyone in the academy knows the rules. If they break them frequently then everyone knows what will happen, a great boot will come out of hyper space and collide with the rule breakers :D pulling them into hyperspace to play alone. :P

Yah rules are all very nice, but without enforcement they rely solely on trust. Why should people trust you who don't know you? Whining and moaning at people who don't play your way (or to the server rules) may make you feel like you're defying the evil, sithy lamer, but its doing no one anygood, at best you're just egging them on more.

In short don't complain to eachother, complain to the enforcers :)

i kno what u mean noob like these "jedi" who are begining 2 come to tha academy think that they are the greatest thing to grace the academy. It makes me angry going on to the servers and somebody attacking someone (who doesn't have a saber up) bcuz of the fact that they lost the duel against that person. Ive watched those duels and their opponent won fair and square they just cant take it.

I was sifting through some old posts, finding stuff to comment on and lo and behold, here we go.

Although in the beginning, I agree that this was a problem, I have to seriously give credit out there for those playing as of recently. Almost everyone I've dualed or sparred or played against plays with honor and respect and truly helps to make the game and academy more fun. I know there are those that still feel the need to commentate, but for the most part, nothing but good gaming from my view.

It depends on the situation. Inn dueling there can be cheap manuvers but hey plp stick to what they know. Like noob blue in jo, if the guy can win using that one style why should he change, I'm not saying its fun but some plp just want to win not have fun.

Now in Siege there is a really big cheat. In the arena all the defending team has to do is get the rancor in the tunnel then sit above and throw bombs and repeater altfire and time just ticks away. I mean this is really cheap because the only way to kill the rancor is to have your assault guy use the e-web gun, which then gives everyone on the opposing team a new target. Now thats cheap, it drains the fun right out of the game. Also in Hoth theres a way so that the bridge is locked or destroyed not to sure on this one, but I played a hoth map where my team extended the bridge then I died then when I respawned the bridge wasn't extended and we had to use rockest to destroy the shield generator. That was cheap because the other team was laughing about it. And in the Korriban lvls when everyone and there mother decides to be a demolitions person and sets up in one room mining it, that is way cheap. Oh boy I talked to much, I gotta go later all :D

There are, however, plenty of people who use the damage factor as an excuse. I won't name anyone, but I remember a certain someone calling me out after I beat him with the single red. So I battled again with the Staff, and I won again. At that point, he was shouting all modes were unfair.

Right.

Then you might as well sit in a corner, give up and fall asleep. I've beaten plenty of people who used red stance. No one is invincible.

Luke i agree, sometimes it is luck. I wanna add to that though, Luck + lag. A few ms ping can ruing a good tight duel because ya think ya moved away in time and even on yer screen ya moved outta the way but WHAM, your dead cause lag. :(

Especially dueling Luke or Mace ya gotta have a stable ping cause ya gotta move outta the way from that nasty 2 swing yellow scissor counter-attack they have. :)

The saber staff and dual are designed to be more effective in combat thats the point, its just they are week for defense, the next update SHOULD solve these "unstable" sabers. As for new ppl not showing any respect there does seem to be at least one on every night, and for my liking not enough is beeing done to stop these lamers.

Damage issues are the only thing I ever make note of out loud. The fact it can be so insanely range makes saber combat unstable, and I disagree with one part n00b, it is very common to win out of luck in the game, even on my part. :)

Well yesterday I encountered a couple of dork monkeys that I wish I could have banned.

One was named Corran, which funnily enough had an "Anit-Lamer Squad" tag before his name.

And the other was some dummy who kept his name at the Padawan default.

Just ignore these people, dont get hung up when they dont congratulate you or say something you did was cheap etc.

In fact, they usually want to duel you again, in order to beat you and feel as if they are better than you. If you never accept their duel challenges, it drives them nuts ;)

Hopefully patches/mods will help to make damage more reliable. Then peeps cant complain as much, including me ;)

Well, there are some issues which need to be addressed in a patch, but I say its too early to really start accusing people of taking advantage of flaws in the game. Besides, come the patch, they'll have the most catching up to do. :D

Also, this type of Jedi has always existed Noob... They will never learn how to lose without blaming something other than themselves. ;)

It's very common, it always happens when a new game comes out. It's called anarchy :)

Ppl just aren't used to the saber types yet, lotsa ppl r just using dual saber(& staff) like n00b blue or something.
