It has come to my attention that our beloved colleague, Flash, has been temporarily banned from his computer by the harsh, brutal dictators of his household (namely his parents). THIS JUSTICE CANNOT GO UNANSWERED!!! Therefore, I am organizing this cyber-sit-in to demostrate against this heinous crime against humanity. Such a nefarious punishment is devisive and cruel and only serves to heap aspersions and acrimony upon the evildoers that would do this to poor Flash. I say we SHALL NOT REST, we SHALL NOT GIVE IN, we SHALL OVERCOME!! So, my brethern, let us join cyber-hands and vow to post here and admonish those responsible for this callous and sinister punishment. Yeahhhh....in terms of doing a harsh punishment, for those in their teens, this only makes them dig in their heels. Most likely a person would rebell MORE with harsh punishments. So I think it's a dumb thing. Something a bit less harsh. Too bad you can't just whack a kid. 0.25 seconds after you find out what the kid did wrong, a quick swat on the backside, and punishment handed out, punishment over. Or...what worked decently for parenting: I didn't have allowance, but "wages". If I did something around the house, I write down a set amount of time (Setting Table=5 min.) I got $4 per hour. Seems like a little bit, but if you do work around the house for an hour a day, you get at least $20 a week. And that's not bad. Anyways. We get in trouble, we get yelled at, "wages" docked. And teens are all about the money they earn. I could pout and just not work anymore, but then I get no money. If I worked up to $100 that week, I'd get it, no question. But attack the money, that's good parenting. And it's a loophole for grounding. You're not grounding them, just restricting their cash flow so they can't do anything. Worked for my upbringing. So, er....bring back FLASH!!!! Yeah!!! _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jedi fight for civilization, because only civilization creates peace. |
