Like some students (I think) i wish to make servers for the Academy Students to fight and such but it is apparent that i cannot due to that whenever i try to check my IP to post within a message in the Academy, it is not there and its place is "Localhost". 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x-172.31.x.x are ranges of IP addresses that are reserved for private networks.(that means you cant use them on the internet) if you have an ip address within one of those ranges, then you are behind a router that connects you to the internet. you have to configure your router to forward the ports needed to host a jk server. i dont know the specific ports, but if it allows you to forward a range of ports, just do like 20000-30000. that works for me. hehe. edit-- yeah i just checked and 20000-30000 will work. In a command prompt type "ipconfig /all" and look for a line labeled "IP Address". If you see something in the form 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16.x.x then you're behind a router running NAT and will need to open ports to be able to host a game. Check you router manual for how to do that.  _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |
