It has come to my attention by some students, that it is ok to curse at people, just as long as you dont spell the word out. Ex: "You stupid a$s" That is NOT acceptable. As the rules state, alittle cursing is ok, but not at anyone. Ex: "Damn, I wish I could do that combo correctley" I believe that is ok. So, just keep it clean.  _______________ |

Indeed, Khalek. No offense, but I don't really care, nor take extra consideration to 8 year olds. The reason I don't run around swearing my a** off (damn....), is simple; it's impolite. That's what you must remember; not that there are someone very young here, but that it's normal decency to not swear all the time. |

If you think Jacen is ...um....nailed?....then you should listen to some of the players out there...I think this thread is on similar grounds to Vlads post about the general behaviour in the JA at the mo. I got told to 'lighten up for once' last night when I mentioned the language problem. LMAO....I'd never met the guy/lass before....dearydearyme.... Regardless of our personal opinions of swearing (I agree with Jacen...psychologically, it is parental actions being linked to swearing that is FAR more detrimental  ) I think all good people here would agree with me in saying that just because I believe that swearing isn't that bad doesn't mean I will force others to listen to my verbosity, LOLI won't swear badly in front of others, not because they may be a 8 yr old but because they may not want me to..it's as simple as that. Ah, but I would also say, if they don't hear it here, they hear it in school. I've grown up with my Dad's constant swearing (as well as about every other adult, swearing isn't exactly a terrible offense here), yet it hasn't screwed me up (if you comment that, I swear, I will hurt you.... ).In my opinion, kids won't get harmed by some swearing. Of course that doesn't you can go around saying "f**k u n00b" to everyone, but still, it might not be as damaging as some seem to think. |

I disagree Jace with allowing some people to curse once in awhile.....Because, we do have some younger kids here. There are 8 yr olds in the JA (believe it or not *looks over his shoulder at Doobie* ) I dont want to know that I let someone poison the mind of a younger kid _______________ |

The burst of swearing is due to there is alot of new people in the academy. The arrival of Jk3 is the cause of this, but dont worry the new people will learn the rules. The ones who dont will probably leave on their own. |

Imo, a rule against 'damn' would be plain ridicolous (sp?). That word is way too normal to ban. It's not even like it's 'bad', as "f*ck" would be. I also think we should be careful with being too aggressive on the swearing. I don't see much of a problem if you once in a while say "f^ck this", as long as it's somewhat rare, and that you don't direct it at a certain person. |

Yeah, I agree with SS. Although, to me, I think its ok for someone to say "Damn" just as long as its not AT someone. Although, I dont see why people cant just do like me and say Darn.... The servers are WAY out of control. The laming and cursing going on is nuts! I feel like im on a public server all the time. Seriously, I've seen a lot of it going on. Most notably by some newer members, that doesn't mean that us that have been here longer are exempt though. I'll admit I've let out an occasional expletive, but its not every line like I've seen some doing.
