Option 7 - It seemed like a good idea at the time. I didn't really know what I was letting myelf in for  I found it while looking for JK:JO mods about....hmmm...all of a month or so ago  It's good, though, ain't it? Yeah... my story is much similar to Ash's. Started on jk2files.com or something. Previously, I thought it was time to leave offline gameplay and enter the publics. My experience was actually very interesting, I may sound crazy, but I did meet some of my best m8's during my first few days online. Went to that site and noticed the Jedi Academy link, so I took a look. Heh, you all know what happens next, I fell in love with the place, and I nearly abandoned my public server travels .I found the atmosphere unlike anything I have ever seen in my life. It was peaceful. I thought to myself, "Wow, where can I go wrong in a place like this?" I could actually duel and take the time to say it was a great fight without having to think of getting lamed. I set my goal to be a trainer, and as I worked up the ranking tree, I developed my skills (Was a red stylist in JK2, a little bit before I reached Knight, I started practicing yellow stance up until now ).I think it was around my Knighthood when I actually began to think: Have I really kept myself away from the public servers for this long? I ventured away after this thought, I chose a completely random FFA server, and something happened that I never even thought possible. I saw my first m8 EVER on this game. After all that time, he became a high ranking member in [CW], he immediately noticed what I had done in the Academy as well. It had been so long, and we both really accomplished something. Today I stand as a JAT . This is what I've set my goal to and this is what I got. Let that be an inspiration to everyone in this Academy. Set your goal, and go after it with everything you've got. Be yourself, nothing else. I can't tell you how much this online community has changed me, it's changed my attitude and way of looking at other players online.In conclusion, I just want to say the Jedi Academy is the BEST online gaming community in HISTORY. I'm not an oldbie, that's for sure, but I can say I have seen the JA in one of it's darkest times, but with the fine leadership of the council, we sprung to what we have right now. I don't know exactly how long this is. I guess that's all I have to say, hope you had fun reading my online life story. Thank you all, I'm out. _______________  Luke Skywalker

lets see.....about a year ago i was really bored and wanted to find a good multi player game to get into. i remebered that i had JK2 and that i was pretty good at it when i versed people in my dorm. for about two days i played JK2 on public servers. i got my ass handed to me on a silver plater. i sucked. alot. and the people on public were complete a-holes. so i said screw it, ill just download some mods and mess around with single player. while i was crusing around on Jediknight.net looking for mods i came across The Jedi Academy banner. i was curious as to what it was so i decided to check the site out. my mind was imediatly blown. here was a website devoted to teaching me how to play JK2. this was just what i was looking for. i fell in love with the concept, the site, and over all the community. my first reasons for joining were to learn how to play so i could go back out to the publics and whoop some ass. i soon droped that idea once i realized the JA was all i really needed. I made this post to kinda bring it to the minds of everyone new and old why they joined the Academy. We should never forget why we joined and I just though it would help to refreshin a feeling of pride within us all. Sometimes we take for granted the things that mean the most to us, thats just human nature. I came here for the first time because I realized I really sucked at JK2. Took some classes way back when and played for awhile until I started to get the hang of it. Then I got really bored, knew I had gotten better but couldn't touch anyone who had been around for awhile. I put the CD on the shelf and started playing Diablo 2 LOD for about 6 months. I got really powerful on the D2 realms, then the SOJ duping spree messed everything up and I started playing single player D2. The fabled 1.10 beta patch for D2 came out and I started building a character editor in Visual Basic for it. Got bored with that and I didn't know what to do... Played Day of Defeat again for a month or so, got bored with that. So, I loaded up JK2 one day, got myself reinstated in the Academy and played for a few weeks then POOF, JK3 was here. Problem is im getting bored again. The server problem this week is not helping... _______________ Gone but hopefully not forgotten... |
