Wow! I have no intention of reading that last post... No offence intended, but that's really text heavy there... I guess I now know how much of a fool I am...I'm far worse for text heavy threads and posts.. BTW, BACK ON TOPIC Like I said, I didn't read the last post, so ignore me if 'm repeating, but I don't care if a band is Christian or not...Lifehouse are Christian, but they just use the same imagery everyone else does.. Think about songs as poems...how many poets use religious imagery...ALL OF THEM that I have read... (ME = Lit student...if you want to argue about this, I'll be happy to - just post on my profile or in a new thread so we don't spam this one up )...and how may are particularly (or even slightly) religious...very few.IMHO (read humble, not honest...not that I'm not  ) Evanescence mix style with content quite successfully...Anywhere sounds twee, yet has a touch of unrequited love in there, while Bring Me to Life is the opposite - optimistic content with more wrenching vocals...Like MoS said, Life ain't Candy (paraphrasis, k?)and having ambiguity in music gives it more emotional content, for me. ...LOLHaving said that, I haven't voted yet because I have heard no Nightwing(EDIT://NIGHTWISH, nightwish..LMAO/edit)...am getting some now, else my opinion is worth less than normal... _______________ Brother to HW and Kyp Durron, padawan of the almiiiighty NFF. nonetheless, I like to listen to what i deal with in everyday life... the stench of people acting like what they are not, the stench of those who act superior to those that think they are inferior, the stench of death lurking around the corner... and the dangers that lie ahead if one isn't looking, oh yea, this is what I go through every single day, neglected by the world for no apparent reason, the teasing, and staring behind my back, only to know that they who are my "friends" spread rumors and being a parasitic worm... oh ya this is what i go through life everyday, do i like it?? that's for me to know, do i like to be tormented mentally by those who believe they are superior??? No, it's until they day that what they did will kick them in their butt's until they go through the same torture of isolation... oh ya, the deep dark haunting sounds of the messages people send through their body language and communication... IMO only to remember how i was treated as a kid, in deep sense of isolation, people believing i was stupid, only until they found out through their thick heads that i am not as stupid as i seem to be, only stupidity is in those who think they are not, in a sense everyone is stupid, for no one knows everything and makes the right choice everytime... Oh yea, I do like to listen to my everyday life, now would I? Deception and misconception is the weakness' of those who do not know what lies before them, the opportunities that they have, only to pass them up and deal with the consequences, no no no, do i have the same chances??? only I am the one who sticks out of the crowd, belonging to no group, being what race i am, being isolated for being an atheist, for being in a finacial class?, and no i'm not talking about this "academy", i am talking about my society and my peers, am I the only one to face the anagonizing pain that endures me for so long? ever since i could remember, this pain still lurks around... Well Padawan, life isn't pretty. I like music that I can relate to. Some of it deals with death and suicide, some of it deals with religion. I've been SIing(self injuring) for around two years, and it is something that, although I dislike doing it, is a signifigant part of my life. I have cut too deep a few times, and it's landed me in the hospital. Despite my SI, I'm not suicidal. who the hell is night wish??? i have no clue... but ne wayz, i believe evanescence lyrics are based on suicide (goth of course) and drugs perhaps???, i mean c'mon, purple skies??? wats with that??? if there is symbolism, tell me bout it, but ne wayz.... they're ok.... BTW, tourniquet... something that contricts blood flow... no pretty pictures there.... nonetheless i really really really really really dislike(not harsh enough) ne muzic that deal wit religion... i'm ok with the death and suicide thing, but please anything but religious rock, country etc., plus i cannot put the harsh word on country... you can burn me as much as you want but i will never love country... _______________ When you are told something for years, you learn to accept it.
