I just.... do a little dance, make a little love, and throw in some gettin down tonight. Na but YOu got some good replys, I use blue lung, barrier, or a very carefully aimed red swing, and the red kata, but the katas hard to do. _______________ Using no way as way. A few things. First, for double sabers, the Barrier attack works very nicely, but if you don't kill them on it, you're liable to take more damage than they do. It's best to wait until they do the gliding part of the Butterfly before you use it. As for using lunge, it only works against people who attack with the glide. The more experienced staff users will only use the two hops at the beginning to deal their damage, and it's awful hard to do a lunge against those. Katas do work nicely but, as I said with the double Barrier attack, if you don't kill them with it you're liable to take more damage, which means you should wait for the gliding part of the Butterfly - again, against an experienced staff user that won't work well because the gliding will be used to flee. However, a red kata done at close range on the butterfly's first hop will deal a hefty amount of damage if you try to hit them with the first swings (the spinning ones). After that, try to get the heck out of there or you'll get hit by the glide. As for the staff's saberlock, I tried it and you can't actually use kick during the saberlock. It's just another one of the variable ways to win a saberlock. So, if you lose the saberlock, you lose, and if you win, you win. Just like any other saberlock. Hope this helped! :-) _______________ © |

even worse than butterfly laming is the staff has a %100 unblockable saber lock win. All they have to do is kick and you instantly lose and end up on the ground directly in front of within saber reach. Personly i think thats lamer than the butterfly |

If you're also using staff, time your own butterfly so that, as they do the gliding spin at the end, you collide with them from your first hop. It's the most effective counter I've seen yet. _______________ © |

Feniks if I didn't know any better I'd say you need to turn up that mouse speed a bit and learn to use it fast cause I don't have a problem killing a staff user in the middle of a butterfly. Just get to the side of them cause they can't turn easily and just down hack at them in red stance. Jumping helps for an instant kill (headshot). Find that person who spams the butterfly and practice that move over and over again on them until you kill them each and every time with ease. The downhack is good but, as Dante said, it's very risky. Personally, if you're in red stance, I find the superior choice to be right-strafe+back+attack, timing it so that as they land from their first hop, they hit your lightsaber as it swings upwards. Not only does this swing do as much damage as the downhack does, but because it involves you using the back/strafe buttons, you're already moving out of the way of the butterfly. Furthermore, crouching slows you down. Since you can stand whilst doing this counter, evasion is further simplified. As with any counter, however, it requires practice and good timing. It's a lot easier to just jump over it. _______________ © |

Thats why i said it takes practice. Of course someone who tries this first against some killed like you in the staff taht will aim down with a butterfly might not succeed. But someone who has practice with it and understands when to swing, in a dead fight between the butterfly spinnig after the second hop and a straight down red swing that you crouch at and aim it at them, the swing overpowers the butterfly. So its not really a matter of risk. I didnt say just satand there forever, you hit and then you get out. Its a matter of practice. Good points tho yy. _______________ "A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary" |

Well ok heres the way I look at it on the chance u actualy get the hit in cause of this cheap random dmg trash u may risk only taking 5-30 hp on a down hack which is COMPLETELY stupid theres no set dmg SO ur way may work but ur running on the risk it'll take the dmg u want it to take cant asume it will take what u want due to this games off dmg scale plus since i use staff mostly i would know moving ur hit towards the floor will attack the person on a crouched position _______________ Sister to Smily,Axion, and CT Friend to ALL...
