A problem of Frivolous behaviour Ok this was only slightly related to the post i put it in and everyone seemed to pass it by and continue with the main purpose of the thread. What is this forum coming to if you cant steal somebody's thread !!! Ahwell, guess I have to make my own then, The problem I am referring to is in basic terms "people not being serious". Now I understand that this is a place to socialise and meet people and even mess about, (as long as the "messing about" doesn't interrupt others), and you can always try to ignore the "fools" (by the term "fools" I mean those who wish to partake in activities that will not improve their Jedi knight skills, I do not mean it in an offensive manner but shouldn’t come up with a better word) but when they make annoying messages keep coming up on the screen, not mentioning any names *Cough(URDED)Cough*, in multi colours again and again , it can be hard not to read or at least to not be distracted by the messages. Also a few people, this time really not mentioning names try to get you to join in their unusual "games". Which is fine... The first time, and if they ask and not tell. Eg. (slightly changed) Fool: Come to Ceremonial Squibit: Why, what we gunna do ? (on my way) Fool: I need you to help me with something. Squibit: Oh, ok sure, what do you need help with, Fool: Stand here and when i say run along a wall, while I shoot you with a rocket, Squibit: No guns inside, you know, but as we the only ones here I guess no one will mind Squibit: gunna practice aiming ? Fool: You'll see, After along time with not allot happening, Fool: darn, not working, Squibit: what you trying to do ? Fool: I want to force pull you off the wall and into the rocket and then say "haha, you see my great shot, the force helps with everything" Fool: and film it to put in Crazy forums 30mins wasted. DOH! What is my point ? Well I hope that the "fools" who read this will 1) stop using multicoloured messages excessively EG. "Everyone is NUTS!!" " Everyone is NUTS!!" 2) Ask people to do things or help them, EG. "Hey, please could you come to ceremonial ?" 3) Explain exactly why they want you to do things Eg. "I want to make a movie for the crazy forums, Please could you join in by ......" And if possible could the JAK+s be able to enforce .... I think you miss understood, I have nothing against binds, I myself use them to make typing thing easier, and try to make them funny (failin no doubt). It is binds which are 1) completly multicoloured 2) Used too much / at inappropriet times 3) Used when somthing like a class is going on, One of these aand the bind begins to annoy me , All of them and I could get Really bothered, A bad example of a bind "OH YEAH! I'm a ChampioN !!!" Used for no apparent reason, All in multicolours, Repeated again and agins, during a class. A good example "Well done Jedi, You have some skill!" This offends me as i don't think that i am a 'fool' for having binds. Binds merely make it easier for you to say something you usually would say, and without funny comments we would all be dull, boring people. _______________ You are not your f***ing system specs. Yeah...I agree w/ you about those freakin binds people have. Some of them are just flat-out annoying. Especially when you are trying to train a padawan or something of that nature. We have a map now. We have an 'inside' where guns are not allowed. We have mats to duel on. If and when the mod comes out, and people start calming down, everything will return to how it was. Well said Vasper, Darthy. You both get SilkMonkey awards for giving solid responses. Yeah, if you don't understand whats going on, leave or ask people. There shouldn't be a problem if you want to leave and maybe duel or run around WOO HOOing (JK2 only). When someone is being annoying or disruptive, and you ASk them to stop, 1 of 2 things are going to happen. They either will or they won't. I think if you ask someone to stop and they dont, you gain the upperhand. Everyone will see that you politely ASKED them to stop, they didn't, now ppl will notice how disrespectful they are being. Sorry Bro I think this is a bit harsh. We can always say no or ask an individual to refrain from doing whatever it is that irritates you. I like the community because it is more than just fight win/lose repeat. Well, I see his point. It IS just a game, and one can do what they like. I think he gets that. What I think IS a valid point, is that, as he says, two main points: 1. Kindly ASKING people to do things. There will be less trouble if you ASK people, than to TELL them to do something. 2. Wasting other's time is kinda rude. He said 30 min were wasted when he didn't really know what was going on. So again, I agree on two points: >ASK, don't DEMAND >DON'T WASTE OTHER PEOPLE'S TIME. They are on here to have fun, just like you. If they consider standing around for a half-hour fun, then so be it, but I doubt it. But can anyone really enforce this? Not really. But I agree, treat others with respect. that IS what the Academy is about, really. JK2 and JK3 are not about respect, but the JA is. So there is a difference. While JK2/JK3 is JUST A GAME, the JA is a place for respect. His point is well taken, and I will personally defend his points, more those that fall in line with that listed above. _______________ Jedi do not fight for peace.
