Hi folks,
Just wondering if there is a plan to have a pic uploader in the profiles? I feel bad bothering academy staff with tasks like upload 100s of pics. However, I am new to the academy maybe there was an uploader and people abused it. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks, D.C.  _______________ One of the original Belouves. Thanks, DJ and others for explanations and suggestions. Now I know that this is an issue that is being thought about.
But just one questions remains DJ, when will my pic go up? I emailed it last Tuesday. What is the turnaround time? Perhaps it is only updated once a week and that's cool, just want to know. Thanks, D.C.

Well the way they do it at ezboards is you have to find your own host for the image. Then in the profile you add the URL to the preferences and it loads the image that way. Works fine for me that way. _______________ Death is only the beginning. |

well, the users are still uploading themselfs, the only difference is that the pics are placed in a temp folder |

what you COULD do, is make a script that users up-load, and it goes into a que (sp?)
then every day or so DJ or massa or anyone else that can goes to this page and look at each picture and clicks a 'accept' button and it auto-ly goes on the profile page that way it's mush easier, but people arn't uploading themsleves, and you can say no to a pic. workable? _______________ Well then. Just so you know, just because I don't post often doesn't mean I don't lurk this place multiple times every day... |

I do have an upload script nearly completed, but the jkii.net admins don't want users uploading stuff due to security reasons (which I can understand.. its the same reason I don't allow html in any of the posts here  . I'm planning on a workaround for this. For now you'll have to email pics and wait. _______________ My car is made of Nerf. |

DJ said that he is working with the host of the site (jediknightii.net) to get one going. I don't believe there has ever been one before, it’s just on "the list" of things he wants to do.
My question is this: couldn't we just have a URL reference to our pic? Then we could host our own profile picture or get someone like Tripod to host it. It would save space I'm sure, but I'm not sure space is even an issue. _______________ One of the Belouve boys |
