Skinning Problem in JK3 | |
TheBeast - ex-Student |
Well... here's my problem. I was reskinning a model the other day... a model made for JK2, that I wanted to take to JK3. I did all my skin and when I got it finally into JK3... there was something missing... his chest. Yeah, the model I'm talking about is the Rodian model. In JK2 a Surf file was included with this model so the 'torso_vest' would be surfed off and the 'torso_augment_off' would be surfed On. In JK3, it seems that the surfoff command is OK... but it doesn't surf the other part ON... what am I missing here? I searched every forum that I could think of... and found nothing... Well I did found other people that it had happen too, but never a solution. And After those research I think that the fact that the part I want to surfon is called 'torso_argument_off' is a problem in itself. Do any of you ever stumble on this problem... and if yes, did you find a solution beside putting your project in the trash ??? - Beast _______________ "Taken separatly, women and alcool can be quite fun, but when you mix them they can make you a dumbass!" - Red, That 70's show "Fez likes them big, Fez likes them small... Thx Zoro for the reply... The thing is that therre is no changes to the basic stucture of the *.skin file in JK3 (compared to JK2). It's all the same thing, you name the a part of the model, followed by a comma and then the path where the skin is (usually a .jpg or .tga file). ex: torso, models/players/anakin/head.tga But something that was added as a functionnality in JK3, is that JK3 is able to recognize that if you wrtie something like this torso, *off Then it will turn automaticly that surface off, without the use of a *.surf file. A file you needed to do that sort of thing in JK2. Now what my problem is, it's that the surfON command in the .surf file is not taken into account by JK3 (and believe me, I tried more than once and in more than 1 way). So I was wondering if there was a trick to turning a surface ON in a *.skin file... like the new OFF structure. _______________ "Taken separatly, women and alcool can be quite fun, but when you mix them they can make you a dumbass!" - Red, That 70's show "Fez likes them big, Fez likes them small...
