Has anyone here managed to get JA 1.01 working successfully with WineX (Using a recent CVS)? Single player works perfectly well, but I get a crash when starting the multiplayer executable. Anyone else in the same boat? |

Go to http://www.linuxfusion.net/ they have tutorials and such about installing Wine/WineX and JK2 and JA on a linux computer with Wine/WineX. Hope I was helpful. _______________ Windows95: <win-doz-nin-te-fiv> n. 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company, that can't stand 1 bit of competition. |

I gave up on the CVS version and forked over fifteen bucks for a three-month subscription. Works great! The subscription thing is a crock because you pay five bucks a month (three-month minumum) to be able to get support and updates, _but_, "support" mostly consists of being able to post questions on the tech support forums--there are other wine and winex forums on the web for free--and there's apparently only a new download every eight or nine months anyway. So buy your three-month subscription, cancel after three months, and subscribe for another three months when the next release comes out. With luck, game developers will get it through their heads that there are more and more Linux gamers out there and release native Linux builds. Unreal gets it. Wolfenstein gets it (at least Enemy Territory, the one I play). LucasArts and Raven need to get it. _______________ My signature is only one line. You're welcome. |
