Alright, I had a full roster of about 10 or 12 people for one of my classes, Guess what, 3 of them showed up, so when you guys sign up for classes, double check that you can actually come and if you can, come to it! Yeah, if I can't be in a class I enrolled, I'll atleast tell the Teacher i'm sorry and give a reason for not being there. Acey: I don't think that'll help, if the points don't give you anything, people will most likely not be bothered if points are taken away, since they can't do anything with them. I'd go with Bail's method, though. It's a good one. Yeah, it's time consuming, but if it works the way it should it's never going to happen again. I missed two classes in all my time here, both Luke's medium stance class, and I gave an excuse immediately the day afterwards (with valid reasons). People who don't do that view the teacher as an automated thing like the system itself (if I can't make it, big deal!). These are PEOPLE you're making an appointment with. Behave that way. I of course agree (with the poll) I think that, if I ever become a knight I would do the following... I would first write down all the names that are enrolled, before I begin my class and then I check who shows up, and who doesn't At the end of the class, I make a summary of who came and who didn't, and I would leave a message on the profiles of those that did not show up, asking them why they didn't show up I think that in this way, I could make an impression that I really care (to the student) When he sees this comment on his profile, he'll probably think: "Oh, damn... (or other words )he/she noticed!" I think it will be a good idea to do, since it would probably make them show up more, or enroll less what do you people think? Btw: I said, I would do it like that, but I have a lot to learn still... Yes I've seen this so many times. it's not funny. I seen a full list of a class. and I couldn't join. but I went anyway. and the class had about 3 to 5 people in it. who never signed up for it. just people grapped from the chat room.. one thought I had was to bring back the points system. JUST the points. not the ranks. call them classes attended or something.. you attend a class = +1 you miss a class you have enrolled for but give an excuse = 0 you miss a class you have enrolled for but no excuse given = -2 (we want to show that if you enroll at least make an effort) if a point isn't awarded. make 1 comment on the JAT/JAK's profile and that's it.. constantly bug a JAT/JAK about points that weren't given = minus whatever the JAT/JAK wants to take off. being disruptive in class = 0 kicked from class = -5 Student complains they aren't a Knight cause they have so many class points. = Minus all students points down to 0. rank isn't earned by classes and if that's the only reason you join the classes. well.. poo to you.. or something like that.. just a thought.. gives something for students to strive for and gets peeps into classes. _______________ .Lag Bro to Xanatos. I entirely agree with SS on this. I've hosted/been to a huge amount of classes, where the class roster was filled to capacity, and only about 3 showed up. If you sign up for a class, be there, or remove yourself from the class list beforehand, so that someone who actually wants to be there can do so. _______________ Brother to Luke Skywalker and (SKX) Dark Blade

Sorry to hear that SS, I can imagine it not bein fun to make time and want to teach, and then almost none shows up. And Acey, if you can't advance with the points, I don't think many people will care if they lost points, since you can't do anything with it anyway. |

Likewise, cept the JAT or JAK never showed up, this has happened about 12 times to me and its really ticked me off. Partially the reason that some people don't show up is because they expect that the JAT won't show up. Now because I love causing mischief, I must provide one example on which I have been left abandoned by a JAT or JAK. Luke Skywalker's NPC combat classes, the one beacon of joy I looked forward to on my computer on Fridays.....Never showed up 3 times. I've seen this so many times it's not funny... if you miss a class you should go out of your way to let that JAT/JAK know why you didn't make it. if your reason was you couldn't be bothered. why did you sign up anyway.. an Idea I thought of. was to bring a class points system back. but NOT count it to advancing. when a student completes a class without disturbing it in anyway or making it bad. the JAT drops a point on their profile and such. similar to what we had before. but without the ranks. and if they miss a class they lose 2 points. or something like that.. just a thought. _______________ .Lag Bro to Xanatos. ok sometimes i cant make because of unexpected things (not with that class ) like one time i was signed up for a class when the power went out (CURSE YOU MR.WIND!!!!!) and another time my dad was on the computer from before the class started to when it ended!
